*awkwardly knocks on car window*
are you like okay?
*looks up from sobbing* all good π
August 29:
On this date in 1977, Iggy Pop released his second and most successful solo album, Lust For Life. Bowie was again on board, and Hunt & Tony Sales--who would later join Bowie in The Tin Machine--provided the rhythm section. The title track is technically the most popular track, but "Neighborhood Threat" after its inclusion in Alan Moore's Watchmen is the most interesting to me.
On this day in 1995,Acid King dropped their debut album, Zoroaster.
On this date in 2000, George Thorogood & The Destroyers released their compilation album, Anthology.
And,
on this date in 2006, Maxeen released their album, Hello Echo.
Just rewatched Final Destination 2 for the first time in...well, a long time. There were a few things teenage me didn't pick up on that I'm noticing now, but I'm gonna focus on two observations:
Didn't the first movie take place in 1999? This is supposed to take place a year later, but based on a copyright date briefly seen when Kimberly's figuring out where to find Clear, and a date shown while they're trying to find Isabella, this appears to take place in 2001. The realist in me says they retconned it, or the writers thought FD1 took place in 2000. The crackpot in me says there are two timelines now (three if you include FD1's original ending).
Whatever force is against Death sure went to bat for Kimberly, huh? Ignoring all of the visions she kept getting, there's this scene that happens after Tim's death. Kimberly's more or less about to give up, but when Burke tells her that he doesn't think she has it in her to quit, the sun visor goes down on its own, letting her see Clear for a split second before she appears in the scene proper. I swear, that force did that just to say, "hey, I got you!"*
*(No relation to the song that [I think] plays in Rory's apartment during his party...unless that was the entity's way of trying to get his attention, considering he sees a sign later on...I think I'm reading too much into this. It's 1:30 in the morning as I'm typing this. I'd better call it here.)
But yeah, a solid movie, like the first. I don't quite think I'd rank FD2 above FD1, but it's pretty close.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go mourn somewhere because WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DO MY BOY RORY LIKE THAT
I...do not know how to feel about this image.
(but the brain worms sure do)

I've run into the final boss of fanfic, and it's not the actual writing process or editing it.
It's actually posting the damn thing.
Had a weird dream last night.
Long story short, it involved two FD characters (Kat and Rory) being the Doctor's companions for some reason, and they were involved in some kind of murder mystery in (I think) Medieval England during winter. There was snow, a castle, and a mangled body. That's all I remember.
Might make art out of this, if I can figure out which incarnation of the Doctor fits best with these two.
Genuinely thinking about making a soundtrack for that fanfic I'm working on. It'd be a mix of normal songs and 'Death' songs (AKA, songs that herald someone's demise). Just have to make sure the songs mostly fit the timeline. Probably gonna make the cut-off date the day Nine Inch Nails' The Fragile came out, since Into the Void is a fairly prominent song in the movie.
Yeah, it doesn't quite line up with the timeline I'm working with, but FD2 does far worse considering that it takes place in 2000/2001, but has at least one song that came out in 2002.
