right now i'm feeling particularly musey for my characters that are more fleshed out and missing older threads where i would write such long, detailed replies and truly would build out the world around them. so, this is a very specific starter call, you can choose from of the muses under the cut and i'll post a starter that'll be 1-2 paragraphs with an established idea for a plot + probably even more thoughts and suggestions in the tags. sometimes i'll take inspiration from your wishlist, sometimes i might not.
what i want more than anything is for us to get invested, to develop our muses through the thread and ship but to also not over plot and let our characters lead us. if that sounds interesting to you, like this and i'll message you to see who you're interested in. character info is listed below, but i like to write characters at different ages, sometimes in different professions depending on the plot so things like that aren't often set in stone.
river im, 26, lesbian, she/they, london thor fc / up and coming director, currently works on film sets doing whatever she can to get experience. used to be a quiet high school nerd who kept to themselves and hated everyone. got into film school and completely reinvented themselves, becoming more confident, edgy and flirtatious. fiercely competitive. takes time to truly open up with someone romantically. prefers casual sexual entanglements. doesn’t shy away from danger. dislikes liars and fake people more than anything, doesn’t mind calling people out either. can be really blunt and to the point. not super tall but they spend a lot of time in the gym and could probably kick your ass.
dove velazquez, 21, bisexual, she/her, jenna ortega fc / college student double majoring in theatre and social work. talented, but she doesn’t believe in being humble about it. not good at not getting what she wants. kind and funny, but also self-righteous and impatient. always trying to romanticise her life in bookstores and cafes. has a playlist for everything.
ferris beauregard, 26, straight, he/him, harris dickinson fc / postgrad student who works part time with local politicians. the obsessive, confusing, too-serious and yet never understood son of a politician mother and a father who doesn’t understand him and won’t attempt to. pet parent to two cats he raised from kittenhood after adopting them from a shelter. doesn’t ever do things in half measures.
quinn zhang, 21, bisexual, she/her, lola tung fc / college student. overachiever and proud of it. competitive about grades. always seeking her parents’ approval. only child who longs to make sure she’s the apple of their eye forever, competing with the children of everyone else they know who they love to compare her to. they own a pharmacy that she’s worked in since she was legally allowed to, though she only started getting paid when she demanded it at sixteen.
romilly ‘romy’ vanderbilt, 20, lesbian, she/her, sabrina carpenter fc / the third and youngest vanderbilt child. college student majoring in business. trans woman. a bit of a chameleon, often has found herself ignored because she likes to move through certain spaces without being noticed. always trying to just become what people want of her, really bad about people pleasing. through high school and now in college is always volunteering. used to be a cheerleader because of how it looked as well, constantly trying to emulate the values her parents say they stand by. likes to be viewed as bubbly and friendly, but deep down she hides how she actually thinks and feels, which tends to be a bit more cynical. writes a lot of music and poetry but is extremely secretive about it. knows she’s gay but her parents already keep her transition pretty hush hush so she keeps it to herself for their sake. tends to know a lot of secrets because her parents never realise she’s in the room.
warner oakes, 22, straight, he/him, christopher briney fc / college student. took a gap year after high school to take care of his grandparents across the country until they passed a year and a half later. he was then left everything in the will, much to the resentment of his parents who like to pretend otherwise. his relationship with them is rocky, but he has a sister a few years younger than him that he’s still close with. sometimes comes across as cold. likes to hold his cards to his chest unless he knows he’s going to win. intelligent but doesn’t like to brag about it. still feeling a little lost as far as the direction he’s going in life.
chandler pruitt, 24, straight, he/him, jack innanen fc / playwright. trans man who had his first big break writing about his experience beginning his transition as a child. the play recently finished its run and he’s trying to figure out what to write next. grandson to a famous author, sorry to say the nepotism arguments are very fair, but he never pretends otherwise. hasn’t been in a real ‘relationship’ since he was a teenager although he’s a hopeless romantic, people only ever seem to want casual things and he’s a people pleaser. articulate and yet bad at communication. stays friends with the wrong people for too long, bad at setting boundaries.
edward ‘dawson’ dawson ii, 26, bisexual, he/him, spencer house fc / defenceman for the washington capitals. eldest son and somehow the disappointment. his father and step-mother own a chain of hotels, their largest and most successful in their hometown of vail, colorado. he has two younger brothers, both of which are in careers that his family actually approves of. his mother hasn’t been in the picture since he was a kid, definitely has abandonment issues he doesn’t acknowledge. is finally starting to distance himself from his family now that he's got his own money. never necessarily been the brightest in the bunch, but he works hard and has a good heart. prefers to keep his distance from his family, but his friends mean the absolute world to him. works hard, plays hard. lowkey a hopeless romantic.
marcus bishop, 37, bisexual, he/him, aldis hodge fc / recovering addict actor who fucked up his life and is trying to figure it out again. entered the industry at barely eighteen after moving out to los angeles by himself. luck and grit carried him to incredible roles that he got recognition for young and he swiftly became a household name. having all of that fame and access to whatever he wanted so young began to breed a problem that built up quietly behind the scenes until he finally gave in and went to rehab. hasn’t been acting for five years, is slowly building trust back up and finding his love for the craft again.
mariposa ‘posie’ huertas, 21, bisexual, she/her, cierra ramirez fc / beauty youtuber. just a tiny bit narcissistic. she thinks she knows better than everyone and you’d struggle to convince her otherwise. always trying to matchmake her friends to a myriad of results. well meaning, but obnoxious.
rosalie sandoval, 29, bisexual, she/her, camila mendes fc / born into a world of luxury as the only daughter of a film director and her wife. their relationship is strained due to the heavy expectations that have always weighed on her shoulders from them, but she’s not vocal about it. the fact that she’s spoiled isn’t lost on her, nor does she think it’ll ever change. ambitious to almost no fault, will go after anything she wants. has an absolute need to win and competes even when she’s the only one doing it. often finds herself pursuing men for the social status that comes with them, rather than feeling deeply for them. works as a celebrity stylist, a job she absolutely got because of nepotism.
slater pruitt, 28, bisexual, she/her, victoria pedretti fc / first born and doesn’t her daddy make her regret it. he wanted sons, he got two girls before that wish came true, resulting in her younger sister jude, born to another wife who was then succinctly discarded. when he finally got his heir, a son, slater thought he’d relax a little, but somehow it made him worse. recently slotted into her father’s publishing company in the ya division despite not being much of a reader. does everything she can to forget about her responsibilities. there’s always another warm body in her bed and a reason to take a shot.
maia johnson, 28, lesbian, she/her, ayo edebiri fc / former mormon from utah who hated it there, escaped to play counsellor at a summer camp only to almost be massacred. naturally, it changed her perspective enough to prompt her to come out and be herself authentically. online therapist/life coach for young people. has she actually got her shit together? no, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t give good advice.
wynona dresden, 24, bisexual, she/her, lily rose depp fc / got her first taste for blood early from a traumatic experience with a serial killer stalking her small town that she obsessed over until he finally came for her. he was shot and died on top of her and the memory stayed with her. her behaviour went off the rails, but her parents paid her antics little mind. had once thought her dream was to be an infamous victim, thus the running away and shacking up with a man she met on the dark web at seventeen. the man who saved her as a child, the cop with the talented trigger finger was the one to find her. he hadn’t cared when it was misdemeanours and trouble, but he cared now. he’d quit the force and promised he’d take care of her. nowadays she travels the outskirts of cities, leaving lovers and the occasional body in her wake, which he helps to cover up. works as an exotic dancer if she needs cash.
