So here’s a fun thing. We like it when the universe aligns in fitting ways and coincidences appear where things that should not be connected, suddenly are very much connected. Supernatural being the most meta thing to ever meta is just an accepted fact in this fandom.
Take Destiel shippers for example. We have our haters. Haters decide they wanna give us a mean nickname. The term “Destiheller” gets thrown around. Destiel shippers think this is clearly a very awesome nickname because well, our ship met in Hell! It’s so fitting!
“Destiheller” over time gets shortened to “Heller” as things do. Destiel shippers proudly call themselves “Hellers” and start using the word in lots of different ways. Suddenly you’ve got “Heller meet ups”, “Heller Zooms”, “Heller News” and most hilariously of all “Hellerism” to describe our way of life.
I thought this was amusing and decided to look it up - mostly to see what Urban Dictionary had to say about it (Urban Dictionary refers to it as a disease you get when you believe a gay angel and an angry hunter will become canon - you are a clown (affectionate))
But dear friends, Hellerism has far older roots, and ironically enough, those roots are still extremely extremely apt.
Here is a book from the late 19th century on Hellerism. Please take a good look at that cover illustration.
That’s right. Hellerism refers to the Supernatural arts of communing via telepathy and with the spirits and in some cases angels. I’m dying.
The following book was also dug up (I love how these books are blue and green lmao)
In general, Hellerism is mysticism, the arts of conjuring, talking to spirits and angels, and dealing with the Supernatural.
Also @/assrtdpzlepcs on Twitter dug up this hilarious article on HELLERISM EXPOSED
Where the word “Hellers” is used to describe us as “tricksters and amusement caterers”.
I just find this all so funny and apt and oddly satisfying and thought Tumblr might also appreciate this.
I’m also outraged at Supernatural for not even once referring to HELLERS in the show since it is CLEARLY something Sam Winchester is aware of!!!
the realization that dean and cas’s one month of marriage anniversary is on pi day was a very good moment I just had
I HOPE HE'S PROUD OF HIMSELF
and the hellers survived yet another day in the trenches

castiel was there !
The c*w: so we've decided dean and cas are straight as an arrow okay? Straight as the rebar that will stab dean in the back in 10 yrs time. So, so, very straight. No fruity business okay?
Jensen and Misha, eye-fucking while filming the numerous scenes where cas manhandles dean and pins him against a wall: I recognise the council has made a decision, but given that it's a stupid-ass decision, I've elected to ignore it.
