Scott smiled as he began stepping outside the town, Shelby and Drift giggling behind him as they all set foot ahead, walking towards the sunset and out of Oakhurst. Scott was excited, hopeful for once in his life. He was finally going to experience more, be better, be free-

The words flashed before his eyes as he was stopped in his tracks, feeling as if there was a wall in front of him, a border. Shelby and Drift continued to laugh as they walked ahead of him, and Scott watched with shock and disbelief. They obviously weren’t afflicted with the same thing he was. He took a breath and tried again, trying to step forward only to be given the same answer.

He felt his heart drop, and the world went silent as the two ahead of him stopped and turned back to face him. “Scott, are you coming?” Drift asked, looking to him curiously, confused. “Cmon, we have so much travelling to do!” Shelby added, still smiling. “I..” Scott muttered, staring at the two in shock and bewilderment. “I.. can’t.”

It took some time for Scott to convince Shelby and Drift to go on without him. Shelby especially didn't want to leave him here, but Scott swore it was best. They couldn't stay here and wait for him to figure this out, it wasn’t fair. He couldn’t hold them back for him.

“Go, go to the city and get a place for us, okay? Get set up and i’ll find you once I get out of here, okay? Please be safe.” Scott said, holding back the nerves in his voice as he hugged Shelby and Drift tightly. Shelby was already tearing up as she let go, squeezing him before she did. “We’ll come back for you, I promise! As soon as we figure things out.” She swore, Scott giving them a reassuring smile as he nodded. “I know you will.”

“Cmon Shelby.. We should go while its night, it’ll be easier.” Drift said, her voice just as sullen despite how strong she was being, grabbing Shelby’s hand to lead her away. Shelby nodded, sniffling as she wiped the tears from her eyes. “Okay.. okay.” She relented, letting Drift lead her away from Scott. Once they were a few steps away, past the threshold, they both turned to him and waved. “Goodbye Scott, we’ll see you soon! I promise we’ll be safe!” Drift said, trying to hold back their own tears. “Take care of Avid please! We’ll miss you!” Shelby shouted after as they walked. “Goodbye!”

“Bye!” Scott answered simply, keeping up the brave face as he waved back. Watching the sunset further and the girls walking into the sunset. Scott was silent, not letting the grief in his face be seen till they were out of his sight. He leaned over, hands on his knees as he stared at the ground. Eyes wide and hands trembling.. What the hell was he going to do?

It wasn’t until hours after the structure had been built that the stone marking began to hum. A low sound that was easily lost on the wind.

There in the darkness, if one looked hard enough or even cared to pay attention, they could see light. Light that took the form of a kneeling man in the dirt, the only thing keeping him from sinking down the packed dirt lacking a coffin under him.

Pyro let out harsh breathes, eyes darting from his transparent skin to the water around him. The feeling of tears ran down his face but did not drop to the ground below, dissipating the instant they left his body.

It must’ve been minutes he sat there, staring down at himself, pleads on the tip of his tongue for a woman no longer beating into him. Where was he..? Looking up proper this time Pyro could see he was next to the obelisk in Oakhurst, turning behind him there was a gravestone.

His, gravestone. His name written on a sign that was carefully hung on a stone cross. At the base of it, undisturbed dirt and a single rose.

Pyro moved slowly to pick it up but instead of coming into contact with the stem and wrapping around it, his fingers phased through, the only thing to show for it the flower nudging to the side, something easily explained away as the wind.

It was then that Pyro let out a single broken noise, he was dead. He was dead and someone mourned him and he was surrounded by water.

I’m only in chapter 4 and I have a couple ideas more in mind but I needed to draw this one and especially since Shay is now graduated

Rather than the cool, dark-eyed gaze he was so accustomed to seeing, Edward instead found himself staring directly into an eye socket void of the eye it once held.-Hellbound, Chapter 18

“Sire! Drift?” He yelled out, keeping an eye out for movement as he made his way to the dining hall. “Owen?” Owen hadn’t been seen in a while so honestly he wasn’t expecting that one to work.

He hesitated before calling out once again. “Shelby..?” He was quieter saying it, instances of his death coming to the forefront of his mind. Pyro still wasn’t sure how to feel about her, about what she did. But he couldn’t find anyone and someone who betrayed him was better company than his own thoughts.

He shook his head, there was no evidence she would be the only one there anyways. “Sire- Goldsmith!” Maybe it wouldn’t be the smartest to call him that after the last time he did, but it would surely grab his attention. Could anyone even hear him as a ghost? He was dead- he knew that. But he hadn’t seen a soul- what if he was forced to watch everyone live on without him? Without knowing he was there?

Hands came up to wipe at bitter tears again.

Scott sighed as he walked up the stairs of the crypt, having just come up from Shelby's room in the crypt. It was embarrassing, but he missed her. Being in her room helped, if not saddened him further, knowing the light that lived there was gone. Bittersweet, but sweet enough to be a comfort to him now he was the only cold soul left in the castle.. in town.

His ears twitched at the sound of something. A.. voice? No, couldn't possibly be. He was hearing things, a birds chirp maybe. That's what he told himself as he made it to the top of the stairs, only to stop in his tracks as he heard it again. Clearly. And by a.. terribly familiar voice. No. No he had to be going crazy now. Crazy from grief, or the isolation, or some other thing. But how could he be hearing Pyro after just building his grave? He couldn't be-

His ears tilted down as he heard the voice again, his name this time. The last name felt foreign from Pyro's lips, but it was his. Had it been any other time, maybe he would have been infuriated he used that name. But now, he just slowly stepped towards the door. Quiet as he could as he slowly opened the door and peered out to see none other than.. Pyro. Standing there, like the day he lost him. Scott wasn't one to breathe, he lost that habit, but for once he sucked in air, feeling like he could choke.

Scott should have just skipped Pyro's grave today, why was he even here? He had been doing his rounds for the past few weeks now, visiting Avid's grave, and Owen's, and even Abolish's parents every few times, just because Abolish couldn't. He had been skipping Pyro's though, ever since he appeared and they had their big blow out. He didn't know where the ghost had gone but he assumed if it was anywhere, it was his grave. But today.. he chose different. Maybe he thought Pyro wouldn't be there, or that he had disappeared back where he came from, but he still found himself walking up to the grave he made with a bunch of red roses in his hands to place there.

He scowled as he read the name of Pyro on the grave, raising a hand to brush over his shoulder, where the ghost had attacked him. It didn't hurt anymore, but the memory still ached in its own way. Maybe more emotionally than he'd like to admit to, but nonetheless, he just sighed and brushed the memory away. Scott stepped forward, laying the bundle of roses down on the neatly made grave. He stood there silently for a moment, looking around. He didn't see Pyro anywhere so.. he slowly dropped to his knees to sit there in front of it. Letting himself relax a bit more as he pondered.

"Is this how it will be for eternity..?" He mumbled to himself.
