#hellaween spellbent

My entry for the Hellaween event! Feat. my brand new books, plague doctor buddy, and my very first pumpkin carving!

i had surgery yesterday so it was an extremely good coincidence that the second book of Hellaween arrived on my door in time for me to read it while recovering in bed!!

i don't want to go on gushing for ages and ages bc Moss is a person and i don't wanna be weird at them, but y'all this is probably one of my top favourite book series now. the characters and their dynamics, the writing style, the story, the themes and takeaways, and the insane art style and appeal - i cannot get enough. please do yourself a great service and pick up at least one of these incredible graphic novels, they are so so worth the time. after i read the first book, i wished i had it as a teenager. after the second one, i'm so glad it reached me when i was already an adult and at the stage i am currently in my life

and @dinolich (if you see this!) - please know that you are such an inspiration. i read these and loved them enough on their own but seeing you post online about them and reading the behind-the-scenes pages in the back of spellbent was genuinely so inspiring. you described experiences that i resonated with and found parallels to in my own life, that have made me feel motivated to continue on and work on my own passion projects. seeing what you did with these incredible characters and feeling the love in every single panel and drawing - just wow. i'm sure you've been told before, but your work is kickass and i am so glad you published these beautiful books. however these characters show up again - in another gn, or a show, just on my tumblr feed, or only in my memories - they're so wonderful and you brought to life an incredible story with some of the most lovable little goobers i've ever seen
