you were curled up on the sofa, clutching a hot water bottle to your stomach as period pains shot through you. your boyfriend hugo was looking down at you helplessly, body tense and eyes filled with worry as he watched tears brim your eyes. you'd always struggled with your periods but they'd been getting worse and worse recently, some so painful you'd had to take time off work. hugo crouched down next to you, unbothered that he was running extremely late for training, threading his fingers through your hair as you let out a sigh. your fingers reach out to trace his face, his company bringing you some comfort as you battle with your body. he decides then that training can wait, you needed him more than work, and he definitely preferred your sweet smile to his teammates. and so that's how he spent the rest of the morning, doting on you, filling up your hot water bottle when it got cold and holding your hand when the pain got too much. and despite the pain being unbearable your heart was full of love for your adoring boyfriend.
