“ hey, you’re safe here. ” and while zahid fervently hopes he is telling the truth, he doesn’t understand exactly what she is trying so badly to escape. he can hardly believe what she’s describing: a sort of underground exclusively for mutants and the raid upon its premises. quickly, he locates a blanket and, ripping it from the futon, wraps it around her. perhaps it’ll act as a shock blanket if she should need one. his dark eyes gaze back at her as he straightens the blanket. “ tell me everything. ”
“I don’t know how long that’s gonna be true,” she says, pressing her hand against her lips as she works through some deep breathing, slow four seconds in through her nose, and slow four seconds out through her nose. Her head aches something fierce, she still has lights in her eyes when she blinks, and her ears are ringing. “They got me, sort of. Some loud and bright device, I got really dizzy I almost threw up I was so disoriented.” Lily shakes her head. “I managed to short it and them out, but...” She holds onto the blanket he offers, feeling calmer with the weight of it on her shoulders. “Got the clients out safe, but I had to get gone fast. random but fresh and funky headcanons
- klaus’ relationship with food is pretty terrible in general, but anything involving warm pastry is almost guaranteed to make him eat. he can’t say why exactly, but it’s some kind of association with good experiences where grace was baking in the kitchen and it felt safe
- the walls of klaus’ room are covered with writing, because when he was a kid and ghosts would tell him things / yell at him, he would write it down in the hopes that it would make them leave him alone. eventually his walls turned into a kind of therapeutic work-through of things that he couldn’t otherwise process
- winter is klaus’ least favourite season. he’s had mild frostbite, hypothermia, and pneumonia on various occasions, because it’s incredibly hard for him to find stable shelter during that time. that’s also the one season where he’ll sometimes bite the bullet and see if one of his siblings will let him crash with them
