Toonkind is the homebrew D&D species I made a few years ago! Designed to let you live out all your High Fantasy Who Framed Roger Rabbit AU dreams.

In the campaign setting, there's a leak from the ethereal plane into the material, which is the source of Toonkind. The town that sprung up around this leak is difficult for outsiders to find, as it only reveals itself upon singing a certain song. Toonkind are a known quantity in the world but generally still pretty rare and bizarre, in the same way fae are.

My character is a Great Old One warlock named Skrewi Bu, who enjoyed slipping out of their hometown now and again to cause a bit of mischief. They unfortunately pressed a few too many buttons and got cursed by a hag to forget their theme song; without it, she's stuck without any way home.

 - Todomatsu, he smells like expensive products and naturally like coffee and fruits. He normally has a really long beauty routine.

 - Osomatsu, surprisingly he smells like sweet body wash, shampoo + conditioner, and beer most of the time, although at times he’d be soaked in the scent of the Pachinko place. His routine when bathing is pretty normal.

  - Choromatsu, He smells like bland soap with deodorant and will sometimes smell strongly of His “Hobbies” with his idol figurines. At times he might smell like cologne due to his idol bringing out new fragrances. He baths with his brothers and uses deodorant three times a day. 

- Karamatsu, He smells like gross cologne but also rather heavily of cigarettes. Without the cologne, he smells like cigarettes and maple wood normally which is a decent scent but he wears his cologne much more often than not. He has an acne routine but also practically bathes in cologne. 

- Ichimatsu, He smells bad but he only smells like cats and trash due to spending most of his time with cats and in alleyways. He normally doesn’t smell anything more than cats. He usually bathes every night with his brothers at the bathhouse.

honestly for shading, i just love using big chunky blocks of colour, work out the midtone, and then use that a bunch to bridge it or blend it out...
