🍔 Review № 626 ━ 📍 Moffa Burger ★★★★☆ • We have received many tips about Moffa Burger in Hedemora, which isn't very surprising considering that the restaurant is owned by Andres and Karen Mowafi who founded Babas in Stockholm before they moved to Dalarna. Moffa Burger has both a fixed location in the form of a container on Ivarshyttevägen and a food truck that they use when weather permits. Their menu includes five beef burgers and one vegetarian option, and we opted for a double Ostarn with two 100-gram beef patties, cheddar, pickles, pickled red onion, burger sauce, ketchup and mustard for 120 SEK (11.5 USD). • The burger looked good when arrived, although the patty to bun ratio was a little off as the patties were hanging off the bun. The first bite revealed a nice crust with a distinctive and excellent meat flavour. The homemade potato bun was very fluffy and reminded us of a classic American potato roll, but with a bit more fluffiness. And although it was a little carelessly handled, it still tasted delicious. The cheese had melted nicely and added a lot of creaminess, even if it didn't taste very much. Their burger sauce was also rather anonymous, but the ketchup from the local vendor LissEllas was impressive with just the right amount of sweetness and a nice acidity that we suspected came from the Aquavit they use in their ketchup. The mustard came from the same producer and also added a nice kick that lifted the flavours. We could have skipped the pickled red onion, which overpowered the delicate meat flavours, especially as the acidity from the pickles and ketchup provided enough balance. • It's obvious to see that the owners really love burgers and have a great attention to detail, and Moffa Burger is definitely worth a detour the next time you're in Dalarna. And the fact that they offer friendly service with a smile and local ingredients is just an appetising bonus. ━ @moffa_burger #burger #burgerdudes #hedemora (at Hedemora) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpKEY-jjFbV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
