     Looking through the glass, Kei knows that he envies the young Apatosaurus hatchlings on the other side. They’ll live their lives with no responsibilities, just lazing around and eating with others they can tolerate. No deadlines, no overbearing family, no lectures about how they should “be caring more for themselves and less about their work, come on Kei, Mom and I are worried about you, you hardly even call anymore and when I visit you on your little island everyone says you’re a recluse, Kei, please, just let us help-”. 

     ...Perhaps he’s projecting a little, but still. He’s already trapped inside a bubble on this island, better to be a tourist attraction living a life of lazy luxury than being a scientist, working on creating things he never could have imagined- nor wanted to- when he was a little boy, dreaming of this Jurassic World.

     While he had loved it at the beginning, loves portions of it still- the sauropods will always remain the most decent company he has on this island- the way that the owners are forcing the scientists to manipulate genes, the way that he watches the DNA twisted and mutated into things that should never exist, regardless of the time period. It horrifies part of him, entrances the other.

     Pulling the too-white jacket closer around him- it’s always been too cold in the laboratory, Kei’s found- the blond walks away from the window he’d been observing towards another. Today’s the day, that’s what every scientist knows. Kei’s been a central part of Project Indominus- at least, when it came to the gene coding- and today’s the day that it all comes to fruition. Scientists from all over have been gazing into the window, waiting for the oversized egg to start chipping. Currently, the viewer is a man who would look more at home wrestling with dinosaurs than researching them, taller even than Tsukishima.
