TF2 Heavy/Demo Concept for @camiluna27
Halloween approaches. It is late, all are asleep and resting themselves for whatever trial will come the next day.
Eyelander's power grows, as halloween's influence spreads over the land... it rises from the sheath, glowing, hovering over the bed, muttering incantations that seems to tug at Demo's unconscious mind. The man twitches and waves a hand, fidgeting in his slumber, as the sword's magic begins to take possession of him...
Awakened by the disturbance to the other's normal sleep rhythms, to which he was accustomed, Heavy's eyes snap open. At first, he assumes there is simply a nightmare in progress, but when he sees the faint glow emanating about Tavish's eye, the slight runes appearing on the earthy skin, like spidery vines of writing taking root...
The large russian man sits up, and snaps his head about to look at the hovering blade. The words spoken are faint, almost like whispers, to him; and yet, he has seen the power that magic holds... knows that this is dangerous.
Noticing it was no longer unobserved, Eyelander stutters in the incantation, phantom threads of words releasing Demo for a moment... as it turns to behold the one intruding on this sacred ritual. It meets the cold, murderous gaze of Heavy, who is unimpressed and unafraid.
"Fooooolish mortal, how daaaaaaaaare yo-....urk!"
Heavy punches it. He punches the sword, right in its eyeball face.
"Do not hurt Tavish again, or I break you in one hand. Understand, toothpick?" he intones, to the thwarted blade.
Eyelander remains on the floor where it landed. Silent, seething and utterly powerless; magical energy spent casting, and now... completely useless.
Heavy stares a moment longer, ascertaining it could no longer do harm, before laying down once more to take the fitful Demo in his arms. His tone is low, soothing, and Tavish instinctively turns towards the familiar comfort, mumbling.
After a time, the murmuring and tremors finally cease as Demo settled into safety. Never having awoken to understand the peril of his ordeal... nor would Heavy ever speak to him of it.
'No need to add to Tavish's worries', Heavy muses, finally allowing himself to give into exhaustion. 'He is safe, always safe, while I am here.'
And so they slept until morning, when the eyeball monsters attacked.
