just discovered ao3 twitter is in uproar because a user named [@]heatedrivalryai coded a skin for ao3 that enabled the web browser to scan fics for lingering code associated with claude ai (it turns the screen bright red if claude code is detected). I think that's hella neat! the link to the drive with instructions on how to use the skin. Its a pdf, well sourced too, and its banger!

Bro proofreading with AI is still using AI. You can't go out there tagging your fic with fuck AI and then explain it by saying the fic isn't AI it's only proofread like that???? I know I JUST said to leave the authors alone, and I definitely don't wanna call out the author specifically (even though it's probably obvious), it's more like a general thing. Using AI in ANY part of your writing makes your fic AI assisted. Whether that be writing the whole fic or just helping you with information. Its all Ai

Reviving on Tumblr to talk about the AI stuff cause wtf?? It's crazy to me how many people were just straight up copy pasting from Claude DIRECTLY into the Ao3 editor, like not even into a writing programme first??? While it's obviously shitty to see people use AI, it's also never deep enough to send people truly hateful comments. My personal stance would just be to not read it cause I just don't like reading AI. Harassing someone is never the right call. Anyway, I can assure that I do not / have never used AI in my fics, and especially also code everything by hand. Like I saw the one fic where the author only used AI to code their work and I was like damn. I'm out here spending like 10 hours coding while someone else is feeding it to AI??? To be fair though, I do feel like that's the least bad way to use AI. I still don't like it, but at least it wasn't AI written. TLDR fuck AI, but leave the authors alone, like just mute them or something.
