It was dinner time when a big argument ensued in your apartment. Shoutings and cries can be heard. You decided to leave your apartment to cool down and went straight to your friend, Karinaâs apartment. She knew what happened the moment she opened the door, seeing your tear-stained face. It tasted salty.
You didnât get a chance to wipe them away because you felt too distraught. Itâs been a week. Itâs been a week since you last talked. Youâve given him the silent treatment and he hasnât tried talking to you. Both of your egos win. When was the last time you said I love you? When was the last time you said thank you?

It was a fairly sunny day, you were clad in your favorite sundress that Jaehyun got as a gift. A commotion arose in the middle of the road. Someone was screaming for you to run away, you followed along while your feet brought you to somewhere safe rapidly. But, it wasnât fast enough.
It was never fast enough. It will never be fast enough. The car crashed into you. You were now on the sidewalk, blood dripping onto your dress. Your favorite dress is now dirty. You loved the dress so much, you hoped the blood stain would be removed when you wash it. Tears fell down your face, you could feel the saltiness of them.
You heard the people surrounding you asking for help and calling the emergency services. You were not sure what happened to you after that but you just heard some voices saying âitâll be okayâ until your eyes closed.
Jaehyun couldnât comprehend. He couldnât comprehend what had happened to you. How he regretted picking up a fight with the love of his life. And now youâre just there, looking lifeless on the hospital bed in a coma. Heâs holding onto your hands, he can feel their warmthâ it warms him. He hasnât left by your side the moment Karina informed him of your accident.
He didnât want to miss a moment with you. He wanted to be there for you. He wanted to be there when you woke up. And the fact that you havenât woken up for a week, itâs just too much for him to take. Why? Because it was the duration of your fight with him. What a coincidence. Little did he know that you could hear everything heâs saying to you. And you eventually woke up. Except, Jaehyun wasnât there holding your hand. Your hands felt cold due to the loss of contact. He was unfortunately getting instant coffee at the vending machine near your room after getting scolded by his mom for not eating and drinking anything. He actually deserved it. You slowly opened your eyes, squinting them due to the brightness of the lights in the room.
The first thing you saw was the ceiling. It was white in color, in fact, it was your favorite color. Your eyes roamed to your right side, you could see the clouds flying in the blue sky. The curtains were pushed back, he knew you liked seeing the sky. Seeing the clouds flying in the sky made you content.
On your left, you saw your hands filled with many cables. When the door opened, you were met with Jaehyunâs tired face. It was evident how tired he was, his eye bags looked darker. He smiled at you, showing the dimples of his that you loved so much and called the nurse to inform them. He held onto your cold hands, thanking you for waking up and also apologising along the way.
Youâve been going in and out of the therapy room for two weeks now. Slowly learning how to walk againâ using your legs after a week coma. It was hard. You couldnât stop crying, but he would always be there by your side comforting you, making sure that you will feel better. After countless practice, the doctor allowed you to be discharged. You couldnât be happier. You just wanted to be home, in your own bed.
You were sick of the hospital scent. You just wanted some lavender. You wanted to be in your own pjs, not to hospital gown that smelled of disinfectant. Not that it wasnât good, you just wanted to be comfortable in your own way.

You thanked the doctors and the nurses for taking care of you for a week. You even went the extra length to get flower bouquets for them, not forgetting the rice cake. The nurses squealed as they received the white roses. You smiled seeing them happy. Gift giving was definitely your love language. Nothing beats seeing people happy from receiving your gifts.
As you put your arms along Jaehyunâs, he leads you out of the hospital that became your home for two weeks. He opened the car door for you, making sure that youâre getting in carefully, not wanting to hurt your scars in any way. He put on your seatbelt for you.
He knew how traumatic it might be for you to be in a car after getting into an accident. But your face showed the opposite. Your face still looked pale, but it had its own glow. The sun shined on your flaws, making you, you. You looked beautiful in his eyes. Forever and always beautiful in his eyes.
âYouâre beautiful.â Jaehyun blurted out shyly while his ears and cheeks turned pink.
Shocked, you just muttered a small thank you to the male beside you. He didnât want to make you feel uncomfortable, so he just started driving to your place. You keyed in your password and entered your home.
It was spotless, lavender-scented and not like how you left it. He mustâve cleaned up for me. He brought you to your room and tucked you in as you were still very tired and needed an adequate amount of rest, as per doctorâs request so Jaehyun obliged.
You slowly got up, not wanting to make any sounds. Jaehyun was not there beside you. Maybe he already left. As you made your way to the kitchen, you looked at your plants that looked healthy and very much alive. You got a cup of water to quench your thirst.
âYouâre awake?â a sudden baritone voice interrupted your drinking session.
âYes.â you replied bluntly. Jaehyun knew you still couldnât process anything that had happened within the two weeks and heâs waiting until he can talk to you. He wants to apologize properly and tell you that he loves you very much.
He followed you as you sat down on the couch. You knew the look he had on his faceâ he wanted to talk. Were you ready? Were you prepared? Were you okay to take on whatever he has to say? So many questions roamed around your head. You didnât know what to expect and the thought scared you.
You gave him a chance to talk. And so, he did. He apologized properly and what you didnât expect was him looking into your eyes while saying the three words, the core of your relationshipâ I love you.

âJae, I hope you know that I love you more than anything in the world and believe me when I say that I want you by my side forever. I canât promise you anything but I'll be careful in the future.â you said while tears were falling down onto your face and he took your hands in his, rubbing circles onto them. It made you feel calm. He sighed in relief.
He was relieved that you felt the same way. He didnât know what to expect. He would think that youâll dump him or put a restraining order on him. And so that night, both of you spent the night cuddling on the couch while having a Frozen marathon. It felt nice. It felt warm. Both of you smiled with content.
Itâs been two months since the incident. Itâs been two months since you both talked it out. Itâs been two months since you both fixed each other and improved to be the best version of yourselves. Youâd say youâre doing pretty good. Both of you have been communicating to avoid fights that ended up with you being in a coma.
Movie nights are a weekly activity you do with Jaehyun plus your pets you recently got. Your significant other kept saying that Theo and Orange are weird names for pets, but heâs the one that kept using them when calling your fur babies for meal times.
Jaehyun has been helping you a lot in terms of fully recovering from the coma. You now can fully enjoy cycling in your neighbourhood. He challenged you to wake up at dawn when everyone is asleep and cycle your way in Seoul. The chilly dawn weather made you warm.
Not forgetting to being your husky and British Shorthair along for the chilly adventure. People around you said that itâs weird of you to say youâre grateful for the accident. But you just shrugged it away. Why not? Without the accident, you and Jaehyun wouldnât be here.
