#hearing things

To be honest, I'd like a mature Zelda game. No sexual crap, though. Please. Just don't. I do want more blood and gore, especially when Link gets hurt. Similar to Alice Madness Returns. Like, the less Hearts you have, you can see the screen's edges changing or whatever and Link would display various signs of injury and you can hear him struggling from his wounds, like Leon from the RE series. I would enjoy a grittier, much darker storyline holding nothing back. Actually see monsters and Ganondorf take people out. Language? Eh, minor language wouldn't hurt. Similar to the Japan-only Sonic games. Nothing heavy but that's just me.

For a moment I was certain I heard you speaking to me. Close enough that it felt like we’d been talking forever.

The tone of it stuck with me.

So sweet it almost felt unhealthy. Like sugar layered over something you weren’t saying. Like you were aware of things you shouldn’t have been aware of.

As if you had been listening from somewhere just out of sight.

It sounded like you understood that something in me had already cracked open earlier. Like you knew I’d been sitting there with red eyes and shaky breathing and you were waiting for it.

Waiting to offer exactly the thing that would make the next moment easier.

It was peculiar.
