#healbot

For those who don’t mind a high prevalence of Rally but like a very flexible build that can A. start on any pack, B. take down back-to-back Delvers, C. use any element of healer, and D. works with untinctured 125 STR / 59 QCK fodder trainers - this is for you!

Most of the time I get some very popular add-on that can majorly change the way I experience WoW, it always winds up being a double-edged sword.  To say the least, I don't usually have issues with them working, it's mostly a lack of understanding the customization options or they do a few things I really like, but take away a certain simple function that I can't seem to get to work.

My problem with healbot are its raid/party frames.  I like that I can click the name of a raid member to cast any spell, but it does this without directly targeting them.  So if I need to directly target someone, they can only be in my group (F2-F5 keys) or I have to manually target them with tab through 24 people or show their nameplates?  The only other way I can think of not needing this is to map more heals to the mouse.  Though this would change the course in how I heal (something that might take a bit to get used to), it also brings up another problem...

Another issue I have with Healbot actually has nothing to do with Healbot.  Mouse targeting things in WoW is a challenge for me because a) I can't always find my cursor when there's so much going on, on-screen, b) the mousepad on this laptop, is literally not the best.  Sometimes I find it challenging just to get the cursor to move.  I just need a mouse/trackball, really.  It would help so much.  When I first played hunter, I was a "clicker" in TBC.  Not that I clicked on absolutely everything, but when it came to PVP, most of the skills I used were on the right anchor bar and I just clicked them... to much of my success.  In this case, though I have the reactions, I don't have the accuracy.  Though tab targeting (when the situation permits it, for instance the Immerseus battle) has become a nice help for the need to single target.

Like elvUI, I want to like Healbot, but I might need to do more research as I have only been through 1 youtube video (that didn't really explain much, it was just saying "here are my settings because out of the box, the options are lame") and all the options related to targeting only to really come out with no answer.

After reading Icy-Vein's Holy Priest guide, I didn't find too much that I'm doing wrong, maybe two things... let's see.

Casting Renew on multiple targets before the damage begins:

I don't usually do this, but it seems somewhat situational, though the raid more than often is always going to take some kind of damage, it'll be useful for low-moderate damage.  Interestingly enough I did not realize Cascade (when Chakra: Serenity is active) will refresh Renew - which is funny because I assumed Cascade was an AoE heal, but it acts like a single-target one that heals nearly the entire raid - I love this spell (Cascade) more and more.  Never the less, I find that Healbot would be very useful with this strategy.

Properly casting Prayer of Healing and Circle of Healing:

So I'm guilty of not fully understanding how these heals work until recently.  They heal a small # of people that are within 30 yards of the target, but Prayer only heals targets if they are in the same group.  This means that I could be overhealing with Prayer, and since it's more expensive than Circle (and has a cast time, which Circle does not), that's not good.

Chakra: Serenity:

The only thing I did not know about this was that it's actually more preferable in a general 10-man situation.  As of late, we haven't been doing many 10-man raids so this isn't a big deal. It's just a note worth taking, especially considering it is my favorite Chakra: because Holy Word: Serenity is too damn awesome.

Guardian Spirit:

I forget about this spell more than I need to.  When it comes to someone near death, especially the tank, my first go-to option is Void Shift, which is a bad habit honestly knowing that Void Shift is a CD that is going to force you to burn another CD (Desperate Prayer) so you don't die giving your health to the tank.

Lightwell:

Perhaps the only spell that will force me to use macros.  I can actually count how many times I've used this spell in a raid... or ever, actually: once (with Stillmatica).  In fact, the last time I saw it even used was when I was grinding to 90 on my Warrior while tanking, and our Priest threw down this pilar of light in our very small boss room.

And so I clicked it.

The Were-Tank

We all know this guy from the MMOs. The only thing he seems to be good at is getting punched in the face. He just keeps going, and he's always the first to jump into combat, even though he has arms like dry twigs. At some point, though, when he's just been through too much shit, he will give in to the whispers of his darker nature and take the shape of a tank. He is the quintessential tragic hero struggling with an evil inseparable from himself.

The Healbot

Basically, the healbot is splashes balloons filled with colourful liquids around. The liquids contain powerful nanobots, whose various functions are easy to identify by the colour of the liquid:    green = healing    red = damage    blue = slo-mo    purple = weakness    yellow = strength    black = blindness Unfortunately, the healbot is incapable of forming any complicated plans or carrying them out. It is designed to perform repetetive tasks ad nauseam.

The Glass Cannoneer

The goblin engineers have proved that a cannon less fragile than a thin sheet of glass will never be doing any great damage. This is in accord with a fundamental law of existence: whatever does damage cannot take a lot of damage. Those manning the Glass Cannon therefore always station it far away from the battlefield to ensure its safety.
