Adeleine bathes the orbs: bonus edition :)
Adeleine has stinky puffball friends and they need baths. She’s the bath time moderator. The jarl of the tub, if you will. She runs the bath time and bathes every single puff because 90% of them can’t or won’t do it themselves.
🪐Kirby: One of the dirty trinity of the bathtub. The calmest of the 3. Always caked in mud and has god knows what stuck to his fur. Bath time for the dirty trinity must be outside and in an inflatable kiddie pool. If it must be done inside, it absolutely must be done on easily cleaned floors like tile. Messes get made. He loves strawberry scented everything!!!! Soap, bath bombs (which have been banned), toys, everything!!!! Bubble baths are a necessity and toys that can be put into the mouth also must be present. Also must be held by the scruff to prevent injury (he likes to nibble and Adeleine is frail and has thin skin). Doesn’t like the process of being places into the bath, but loves getting cleaned!!!! He likes brushies!!!
🪐SKirby: Second in the dirty trinity. Middle of the bunch. Difficult but not a genuine hassle. Must be held by the scruff to prevent injury. Likes citrus scented soaps and bubble baths are a must with them!! They can do without the toys tho (they’re a bit more mature than Kirby and don’t need them to sit still. Bubbles are enough). Also like brushies, but are super finicky when it comes to how they’re brushed. They like really fine bristled brushes because it’s gentler on their fur (Kirby needs medium coarse bristles because he gets so dirty). Also doesn’t like the process of getting into the bath, but LOVES to be clean!!!! Gets super content when placed in the tub and stops putting up a fight on the spot.
🪐DMK: The 3rd member of the dirty trinity and the most difficult of the 3. Menace of the tub. Nearly broke her inflatable kiddie pool trying to bite it to get out of bath time and has gotten water on her ceiling (she has no idea how that happened. Her ceiling is kinda high). On good days, she can haul him by the scruff to the tub and convince him that it’s fine. On a bad day, she has to get Ribbon to help restrain his wings (he’s stronger than he looks!!!!). He is smelly and stinky and the water always looks hella nasty when she’s done (she has to sometimes drain it and refill it because it gets that bad). He requires heavily scented soaps. The kind of stuff that you can make yourself dizzy from smelling. He smells nasty and needs to smell like something other than stinky asshole piss. She uses coarse, heavy duty brushes meant for stuff like cattle because he gets that nasty. Pissboy is caked in dirt and grime. His wings are frankly the worst. She uses a bath scrub that is disgusting and old but it gets the job done. Dirt comes like powder and flakes of dead skin sometimes come with. Nasty. He looks amazingly clean afterwards tho and winds up purring during bath time so it’s worth the fight.
🪐MK: The most cooperative puff shes had to bathe. He just vibes. DDD usually helps him bathe (they’re husbands after all) but his wings are delicate and DDD, being a big lad, can sometimes be a little rough on accident. MK can clean himself, but his wings are a struggle, so Adeleine does it! She’s super gentle with him and makes sure he’s comfy while he bathes! He likes wood scented soaps like sandalwood. Tolerates brushies but prefers to clean himself.
🪐Prince Fluff: Bit of a picky baby but absolutely adores bath time!!!!! He will get in himself with no bribes or fights!! One rule: water must be hot. Very warm and nice. He likes candy and sweets scented soaps! He also enjoys getting brushies!!! It keeps him looking pristine!!! He always comes out looking like a soggy mess and she has to squeeze him dry with big towels to ensure he doesn’t cover her floor in water.
🪐Void: After the events of KSA, Void was reincarnated! On all levels including physical, they are baby, and therefore are taken care of as such. Because they are so baby, they LOVE bath time!!!!!!! Adeleine gently picks them up and asks “do you want a bath?” And they get so fucking excited!!!!! Bath time!!!!! They are too tiny to sit in a normal bathtub and have to sit in one of those baby bath seats (the inflatable ones that give the baby a big seat in the tub so they don’t go anywhere and risk drowning) and they are so content!!! They make a small mess, but it’s ok because they’re baby!!! They like soaps that smell like ocean/spring breeze and apples!!! Nobody knows why they like apple scented soaps so much but they do! They always get a bubble bath and LOTS of chewable, bath-safe toys (Void’s fangs are coming in and they started teething). Said toys taste like apples! They love it!! She’s teaching them how to wash their face because their cheek blushies are also starting to show up and she doesn’t want to accidentally hurt them doing it herself!!! Always a happy baby and likes to splash the water and play!!!
🪐Puffballs have highly sensitive cheek blushies!!! Their cheeks have scent glands and function like cat whiskers! They are delicate and must be handled with care. Because they’re so delicate and sensitive, puffballs must wash their own faces or have other puffballs wash their face to prevent injury. Their nubs are too round to do any harm and it stops them from accidentally scratching their cheeks or hurting themselves!! Void is getting cheek blushies (they appear when they reach a certain age and become more vibrant over time!) and they’re learning to wash their face!! Kirby helps teach them in his free time!
🪐Puffballs also have little fangs! Kirby chipped one and it’s almost grown back (he chipped it at least before the events of Epic Yarn)! The fangs help hold objects they can’t suck into their mouth. When Kirby used Hypernova, they utilized their fangs to hold those larger objects! Otherwise he would have to maintain suction on those objects and that can become painful! Said fangs are unbelievably sharp and can pierce nearly anything, especially at an early age! Void gets to chew on heavy duty chew toys to help whittle those fangs down a bit so he doesn’t accidentally sink those baby teeth into someone’s hand. Once they get a little older, they’ll learn how to slightly retract the fangs (they fangs can fold back and retract into the gums ever so slightly and it helps protect stuff they don’t intend to bite)!
🪐Puffballs also have a thin coat of fluff! It’s soft and made to help insulate them! They can stay warm in the cold and keep cool in the heat! However it picks up a lot of dirt and they require frequent cleanings. Most can keep themselves semi clean (their bodies produces oil that helps keep dirt and grime off in large amounts!) but ones like Void, who doesn’t have fur, needs baths very often to keep clean!
