To be honest, I prefer this sort of TV comparison in game mode, and not because of any focus on gaming. Just like how I don't want a smart TV and prefer to leave those media functions to Xbox and Apple TV, I don't like the idea of the picture — be it a game or film or video — being re‑processed after it's been rendered. I just have less faith in TV manufacturers' algorithms over Apple's or Microsoft's, who have had decades with computer graphics. Just make an accurate, faithful panel, and leave it.
Imagine a monitor constantly adjusting contrast and sharpness artificially when you're on the computer.
