The attack she had taken from the enemy assassin was indeed a hard one, and to be left here..within what seems like to be an attic, it was rather laughable if they thought simple walls would be able to keep Arthur at bay, one swing of his sword and they would be free no issues, however, he would only do so on her order. “I apologize that you’re in this situation master, whilst I’m no longer worthy of being your knight please allow me the duty of freeing you from this ‘prison’. Once we’re back within the safety of your abode we can plot a plan of attack.”

She absolutely meant that commentary to be offensive. No regret on that regard. However, she does also offer Tamar an apologetic smile, along with a mug of coffee with milk and cinnamon, a Da Vinci special.

Saber considered his Master for a moment. "'Fate', huh? Y'know, I've actually been considering that myself a lot. I mean, there are countless stories of people meeting their fate in their efforts to fight it, and I've actually seen that very thing happen countless times more. They always met their end the way it was foretold, so just on the surface of it, it's easy to just say 'no, fate is fate and you just have to deal with it.'"

He started pacing back and forth as his rant really got going. "But the thing is, almost every one of those fated deaths were something like 'your child's going to kill and/or overthrow you,' so the people lash out and do terrible things that cause said child to have a reason to kill and/or overthrow them. It really makes you wonder what would happen if they just treated their kids with love and affection. Which, I mean, they should be doing anyway, but you get my point. Is it truly unavoidable, or is it just a natural result of them being awful people?"

He threw his arms in the air as he continued. "And by the gods, don't even get me started on how ambiguous a lot of so-called fate can be! It's like the Fates go out of their way to word things as obtusely as possible so that it never turns out like it sounds like it should. Or maybe it's a...I don't know what to call it, a 'translation' error between the gods and the Oracle? Whatever, you know what I'm talking about. The point is that your destiny is never what the words seem to mean, like it's all one big trap!"

A giggle leaves her as she averts Tamar's gaze, a single gloved finger comes to cover her lips as if keeping a secret. She taps at her chin a few times before continuing, the slightest pinkish blush to her cheekbones.

"My my... how is this for an answer? I would like to cut him up in tiny bits and put them under a microscope!" she laughs at her own joke, but calms down pretty quickly, arms crossed on the table and hand supporting her chin, "...No, guess that won't do. Let's see...

She reaches for the cup of tea before herself, cradling it between her hands and quietly looking into the depths of the drink, a nostalgic gleam to her eyes.

It had been late at night, or the early hours of the morning. The sun hadn’t risen yet, cascading the room in darkness, save for the light of the moon. Despite the calm of the night, Emma was wide awake. No matter what, she couldn’t shake the feeling of something terrible. Like her life was in danger. There was nothing in this house that posed a threat to her, and yet the fine hairs on the back of her neck stood at attention.

It wasn’t long before she realized, though nothing in this house could seriously harm her, there was someone who had ill will towards her. Emma sighed, reaching across to turn on the lamp on her bed stand. The shock of blonde hair as obvious; Damien had snuck into her room again, clutching a knife to his chest and a look of utter contempt on his face.

“Figures you’d be awake.” Was all he said.

Emma was tired of his attempts on her life, and yet, she couldn’t bring herself to finally strike back. He was a poor human, not the one allowed to inherit the family’s magic crest. He was something to be pitied. Though, next time she’s setting up a bounded field so she could sleep without her brother looming over her with a knife.

“How could I not be? Your murderous intent was so potent I could physically feel it.” She raised her arm, preparing a spell. Damien blanched, knowing his own magic was no match for hers. “Get out. I want to sleep. If you come in again, I won’t be so nice.”
