Trick! I now get to drop a bunch of doc doodles and talk about my doc design & head canons. Oh the humanity! first lot was moslty me working out a design for his arm, as well as just generally having some fun, the second one was me testing a new desk set up (Get a laptop arm for your drawing tablet if you can, oh my goodness this is so much better) and the third was me working out the composition of a hopeful future piece (Depending on how busy I am)

Doc is probably my favourite POV to watch at the moment (BC he is unhinged in all the best ways) & his skin is probably the most fun to draw. I haven't got to a point where I'm consistent with how i draw his face (figuring out if a square or long face suits him better) but for the most part i'm pretty set on how to draw him. To be honest though, the biggest struggle with his design for me is remebering to give him actual glasses. I always forget.

Broadly speaking, I'm not a huge fan of 'everyone is a natural born hybrid' hcs, on the whole I prefer the hermits to be human as a baseline, but with some hermits that works less well. In Doc's case, what I like to HC is that he was born a human, and took on a mixture of goat and creeper fetures as a result of ill advised science. Obviously, in canon he lost his arm to Dinnerbone, aka god, which i think tracks. As for his face, I think he lost an eye and part of his face in an explosion, possibly from his own creeperness. He managed buildl a face-plate to cover the scarring and to host a new, bionic eye, but I hc that his ear was also heavily damaged in the explosion (why I draw one of them tattered) and he wasn't able to create a replacement, making him mostly deaf in one ear. He may use a hearing aid in it, but it's still not quite as good as his other ear.

Doc's arm is removable, for ease of maintance, repair, and general tomfoolery. It slots into a shoulder brace which holds many of the electronics. His metal horn serves a similar purpose for his eye- many of the componants live in the horn, which can also be detatched.
