The Texas House of Representatives is going to vote on this education reform thing that will change our current 4x4 requirements into "4x3x3x3."

In Texas, in order to graduate, one is required to take four years of four core classes (one each of English, social studies, math, and science). This has only been in place for a few years, and while I didn't like it because it was so rigid, I find the new plan even worse. 4x3x3x3 means four years of English classes, and three of social studies, math, and science.

How can we as a nation be pushing for more students going into STEM careers and change graduation requirements to things that require LESS science and math? How can we do that without requiring even one technology credit (which used to be required)?
