Second up is Hazel Newlevant’s visually spectacular comic, If This Be Sin.  If you notice, this comic is about Gladys Bentley, who was also featured in one of Eloise Aquino’s mini-comics.  Hazel takes what she knows about Gladys’ life in their early years as a gender-bending performer and then after she came out with her life story, “If This Be Sin.”  Later in life Gladys embraced her female identity and Hazel imagines the sad tug back to her earlier days of gender non-conformity.
