What makes Irene and Hazel nostalgic?
I think for both of them, food! If either of them eat anything like Southern or Scottish/Slovakian, they get all warm and fuzzy!
One for Irene specifically is nature! I’ve said before that she grew up in the swamp area of Louisiana, so she likes going on nature walks and thinking about her family.
For Hazel, I think just being around Ms. Bapka and her home. Ms. Bapka definitely reminds Hazel of her grandmother (whom she was extremely close to) and being around her reminds her of her home and childhood!
