First I would like to welcome you to Behind the Hedge gaming today we are on a new map called Stappenbach 17 made by LS-Modcompany if you would like to play on this map the information will be below, In this timelapes video we are starting off in a New Holland H8060 swather on are way to mow one of the many grass fields once we have finnished mowing we will call up bob to drop off the New Holland T7 with a Krone KWT 11.22 Tedder, we can turn the mowed grass so that the air can get into the moist grass and help it dry out quicker, once we have finnshed we will drive back up to the yard and jump into a Fendt 820 Vario with a Kuhn Ga 9531 windrower, If you enjoyed this Timelapes video please leave a like and a comment below Thank you :)

Water-soluble carbohydrates (WSC), can be partly removed from hay (and beet pulp) by soaking and rinsing.

Approximately 50% of the WSC drain out in one hour’s time.

Silage

Silage is grass that has been conserved by fermentation. The grass is wrapped in plastic when the moisture content still exceeds 70%. Silage has a high protein content. The protein is partly broken down to ammonia, which burdens the liver and kidneys. It also causes pH level in the intestines to rise which disrupts the bacterial culture (intestinal flora) of the hind gut. In case you do…

We are starting to put up haylage (hay silage).  The cows will eat the haylage all through the winter when there is no grass to eat. The hay field is cut, and left to dry down to about 24%moisture in the windrows. Then the hay is chopped and blown into these trailers to be hauled home to the bunk silo.  Once in the bunk, the hay pile is packed down by driving a tractor over it many times till all the air is pushed out. Then the pile is covered with plastic, and the plastic pile is covered with old tires to keep the plastic in place and keep the air out as it ferment. This process will preserve the feed, and the cows will enjoy the grass all winter.
