a return to sender is a type of banishing spell aimed at reflecting, or returning a curse, hex, jinx, or bad mojo back to the person who first sent it your way.
this is my personal written spell but based on taught practices, any closed parts or rituals have been excluded for protection.
ingredients
citrus
- a whole lemon is my preference, but a lime can also be used
mirror
- a properly cleansed mirror, preferably of smaller size and used to spiritual or spell uses. do not use a scrying mirror
herbs and seasonings
- whole cloves are needed for their ability to stick into the lemon skin or flesh
- black salt (salt mixed with ashes or gravel dirt)
- paprika, red pepper flakes, turmeric, black pepper, oregano, rosemary, or other herbs based on preference and accessibility
representation of sender
- you can use their name written on a piece of paper, a photo of them, or an item connected to them or their spiritual being
creation
- cleanse your space and items, setting your intention and clearing your mind
- cut the lemon in half, piercing the inner skin with the cloves, and dressing it with the oils and herbs. make sure to properly rub in the salt and other herbs/seasonings.
- place the paper, photo, or other object of your direction onto the inner side of the lemon. set the lemon inner face down on the mirror
- salt the remaining area of the mirror, sprinkling your herbs around it as well. then take the empty half of the lemon and squeeze the juice onto the mirror, chanting your intentions as you do so.
- you may add a black candle onto the top of the lemon or mirror, waiting for it to burn completely for the spell to set, but i let it sit for 1-3 hours, meditating or cleaning my space while letting it sit.
