i keep seeing this on my timeline, so let me be clear
judaism is semi-closed. practices related to judaism require a barrier for entry. judaism is an indigenous religion and reserve the right to protect their cultural practices.
lilith is not open. kabbalah is not open. jewish mystism is not open.
there are ways to learn about these things and get involved in a community that do not involve stealing from indigenous cultures. in fact, you are less of a witch if your craft is stealing from closed and marginalized communities.
jewish people deserve to feel safe and to be welcomed with open arms into the witchcraft and practitioner community
Active witches (adults only please, I'm literally 30) or any sort of magical folks, please interact with this post so I can find you!! I'm restarting on Tumblr and I need active blogs to follow in the community.
Bonus points if your blog has anything to do with the following topics: the Fae folk, Celtic/Welsh/Scottish witchcraft and/or mythology and history, deity and spirit work, all forms of divination. Oh and dreamwork also. Oh and Appalachian folk magic and history/lore but that's a reach maybe idk how popular that would be here nowadays
It's been a very long time since I've been active in the community and I feel like it's time to actually interact with other magical beings ✨
“Budget-friendly” Witchcraft
I feel like with the rise of witchtok, consumerism has definitely been pushed in the community. In reality, you don’t need much to practice witchcraft. “Budget” or folk witchcraft relies on the tools of daily life to make magic.
Kitchen magic is basically just cooking but baking your desire into whatever you make, preferably with some seasonings that could support your intention to fruition. If you enjoy sewing or knitting, knot and weaving magic literally binds your desire into a charm or garment of your making. Candle magic can be done with birthday candles, tea lights, or the common yankee candle (lol) maybe with dried herb or flower correspondents sprinkled in the melted wax (do not sprinkle too much or too close to the flame it WILL catch on fire unless fully soaked in wax).
You can interact with deities and spirits by giving small offerings of food or drink from that night’s meal as if they’re another member of the family, or by simply presenting a pretty stone you found on your way home from work. Jar spells are a simple, inexpensive option. Clean a soup, jam, or tomato sauce jar and add coins, herbs, rice, thread, acorns, stones, small sticks, and any other non perishables that correspond with your desire.
The limit is your own creativity 🌿
my (maybe unpopular) opinion is that anyone interested in reconnecting to their ancestry via folk magic should begin by learning the names of plants in the language of the tradition. I cannot stress enough how language shapes the world, and our relationship with it

i love when i'm looking at catholic stuff and they're like "if you do this thing then you're picking and choosing what parts of catholicism to follow" like yes tf i am #folkcatholic
Unpopular Opinion Time
The doodle you make or the picrew you use, the poorly executed poetry or basic bare bones prayer will ALWAYS be better than AI generated offerings.
I am sick of having my feed flooded with practitioners, pagans and other polytheists using AI. Specifically deities like Brigid should never be offered AI in my opinion, it’s essentially a slap in the face.
AI generated spells aren’t shit, it’s what a computer assumes will work based off of what it can gather from internet trends and research. MAKE IT YOURSELF, ask a human for help anything but AI.
There is no place for Artificial Intelligence in these spaces.
Friendly reminder that you do not need to perform a fancy ritual to cleanse. In Brujería (and a couple other practices) doing a spiritual floor wash is a popular way to both cleanse and to attract that which you do want. For example, if you're trying to get a job, you could do a spiritual floor wash to both cleanse your space and increase your chances of getting hired
There are specific types of spiritual floor washes that are closed. However, spiritual floor washes are not a closed practice in and of themselves, and anyone can do one. You just need a mop, a bucket of water. and a cleaning solution. You can pray to whichever deities you worship or just visualize your space being cleansed and that which you do want coming to you
