The Mannequins Haunting the John Lawson HouseĀ
Sitting on the porch outside the historic John Lawson House, three mannequins sat on the porch for over a decade. No one really knew who lived there, or why the mannequins were there. Read the strange story at Moonmausoleum.
Sitting on the porch outside the historic John Lawson House, three mannequins sat on the porch for over a decade. No one really knew who lived there, or why the mannequins were there. And no one really saw when or if someone came and moved the mannequinsā positions, clothes and wigs.Ā The old house is found in Wappingers Falls in New York and has probably seen its fair share since it was firstā¦

Robert the doll.
The doll originally belonged to Robert Eugene Otto, an artist described as āeccentric,ā who belonged to a prominent Key West family. The doll was reportedly manufactured by the Steiff CompanyĀ of Germany, purchased by Ottoās grandfather while on a trip to Germany in 1904, and given to young Otto as a birthday gift. The dollās sailor suit was likely an outfit that Otto wore as a child.
According to legend, the doll has supernatural abilities that allow it to move, change its facial expressions, and make giggling sounds. Some versions of the legend claim that a young girl of āBahamian descentā gave Otto the doll as a gift or as āretaliation for a wrongdoingā. Other stories claim that the doll movedĀ voodoo figurines around the room, and was āaware of what went on around himā. Others claim that the doll āvanishedā after Ottoās house changed ownership a number of times after his death, or that young Otto triggered the dollās supernatural powers by blaming his childhood mishaps on the doll. According to local folklore, the doll has caused ācar accidents, broken bones, job loss, divorce and a cornucopia of other misfortunesā, and museum visitors supposedly experience āpost-visit misfortunesā for āfailing to respect Robertā.
The first hint that something out of the ordinary was happening was one night when Otto, who was only ten years old, awoke to find Robert the Doll sitting at the end of his bed staring at him. Moments later his mother was awakened by his screams for help and the sounds of furniture being overturned in her sonās bedroom. Otto cried for help, begging his mother to rescue him. When she finally was able to wrench the locked door open, she saw poor Otto curled up in fear on his bed, his room in shambles and Robert The Doll sitting at the foot of the bed.
Ottoās parents would often hear their son upstairs talking to the doll and getting a response back in a totally different voice. They reported seeing the doll speak and witnessing his expression change. Giggling and sightings of Robert running up the steps or staring out the upstairs window were also reported.

hey do you know anything about like witch/ paranormal/ demon stuff? because if so i think i accidentally made a cursed mirror. We put away a mirror thats been facing my bed for three years into my closet and i heard scratching for a couple of days around 3 - 5 am. It's stopped and I checked the closet and the mirror is gone. Will i be possessed or granted some form of bad luck?
Wait, the mirror is gone. Like, gone? I donāt know anything about the supernatural really, and certainly not in that context. I usually assume mundane things like pests if I hear scratching in the walls... I have heard that covering mirrors that are freaking you out is supposed to help, but if itās gone, then... I guess thereās nothing to worry about?? Iām assuming someone in your household moved it though...
Feel free to chime in in the notes though, folks!
Witches/Pagans/Wiccans of Tumblr:
Hi :)
Iām a baby witch. I thought Athena was one of my Godesses, but I was wrong. I let an entity into my house. Today, I did a banishment spell, but I believe the spirit attached itself to the candle that was supposed to be for Athena. How do I safely dispose of a haunted object?

Spook Of The Day #260 ⢠A Liverpool woman once bought a haunted bed feat. a random spirit
In 2002, a young woman from Liverpool decided she needed a new bed. Or maybe not decided, like if you need a bed you need a damn bed, itās a necessity.
She went with a friend to a local market - Quiggins - and saw a bed in the corner. On it was a man lying face down fully clothed.
She asked the seller about the man, concerned someone just had a heartattack in the middle of the store. He vanished when the salesman came back to the bed to check it out.
So she bought it and was uhhh using it one night when she awoke to this huge pressure on top of her.
She went to the bathroom to splash hr face and chillax but she returned to the same man lying on the bed. He then flipped and in a really weird motion got out of the bed and moved towards her.
She returned the bed and discovered a man had had a heartattack in it before dying.

There is a haunted Dr. Seuss book in the West Virginia Museum of the Paranormal. The book was donated by a family who every time their daughter read it, childrens voices could be heard at night and their daughter felt the unnerving sensation of being watched. It turns out the book originally belonged to a family who was killed in a quadruple homicide and the red stain on the cover of the book is actually blood.
