Despite its ‘90s rap title, DDP4Life was as thrash as thrash could get in 2007, and indeed it sounded more like old school Bay Area thrash than anything Exodus or Testament was releasing at the time.  And therein lay the rub, since Dublin Death Patrol was fronted by none other than Chuck Billy and Steve “Zetro” Souza, and each snarled and roared with even more venom than we heard in either’s heyday.   “Unnatural Causes” was a straight-up crusher that wisely highlighted both frontmen, who clearly enjoyed playing off each other and egging the other on.  Dublin Death Patrol was meant to be a fun affair, and this song definitely loved up to that as Billy and Souza (along with their siblings!) cooked up a fierce racket born out of love for their hometown, and love for thrash metal. “Unnatural Causes” existed for no other reason than to smash skulls and tear the place apart, and for that alone Dublin Death Patrol deserved salute.
