Hate songs
That recent interview we did about our songs got me thinking. We actually have a lot of songs I donât like, I just couldnât think of all of them on the spot. So welcome to our new feature, Hate Song, styled after the excellent A/V Club series in which celebrities pick a song and discuss why they hate it.Â
So, to wit: âBored Chordsâ is a pretty bad song. First of all, I took the chorus from an older (and in my opinion better) song called âLonger and Gonersâ off Gimme Gardens but it doesnât sound very good in âBored Chords.â Also, the tempo is too slow and the title proves quite apt by the end of the tune, where we peter out without a cue, bored to death by the pointless riff and just kinda falling apart, unable to continue the shitty song for a moment longer. Itâs actually kinda funny how the song falls apart, but itâs telling that my favourite part of the song is when it stops.
But Billy Joelâwho ends a line in a song with 'ack, ack, ack, ack, ack, ack?'

Won best thesis that year, and I thank this song for it. And yes, that is Max Cavalera, better known as the singer of Sepultura.
