CHALCOPYRITE: how my muse deals with ending relationships
I was unsure what this question was actually asking, so I answered both.
Breaking up with someone: In most scenarios, he is just a whole bunch of cliches. He’ll set up a meeting to like go for a walk or have tea, and then he’ll say things like “it’s not you, it’s me.” and “we can still be friends”. The thing is, he actually means it. He is that annoying ex who breaks up with you and then keeps trying to check up on you and make sure you’re okay, or offers to walk you back to your house afterwards. Thankfully, he draws the line at post-breakup hugs though he can be convinced to deal with one if his ex wants it.
Dealing with relationships ending (death, betrayal, break-ups): He pretends everything is fine but is actually some variation of emotionally damaged. If he is not pretending everything is fine, then he will outwardly express anger and try to avoid showing any sadness or pain.
With friendships or relationships that fade due to a natural and not inherently negative progression, he tends to feel very nostalgic. When he thinks back on those relationships, a wistful smile comes on his face. This is also the case for the very negative relationships after he has had time to really heal. When he thinks back on his parents, and Mizuki, and the Sandaime, there is a pang of sadness, but he holds onto the good memories too.
