unfortunately I couldn’t make it happen this year yet again. Life is so full for me rn (with good and not so good things) that I don’t have the mental capacity to organise this fest.

But I would like to get your thoughts on doing a smaller version of this fest.

I’ll give you a still uncertain amount of prompts, but this time it will be only single words (no tropes or quotes included like in the previous fests). You can write a fic (as long as you like) or draw something or make a moodboard with the prompt(s) you like.

There will be no deadline, but you can post your work here on Tumblr and tag @harryronfest. I’ll reblog all your works and will make a masterlist that I’ll update every couple of weeks. I’ll also open the AO3 collection again for you to add your work there.

This fest will run next year, starting in May where I will post the prompts. It will be open prompts, meaning everyone can write or draw for every prompt. There will be no claiming.

Please note that today starts the @ronarryfest! It’s a fest where you can claim specific prompts. So we’ll have two fests for this pairing next year, but with different prompt options.

Would an assortment of 15-20 prompts be enough for you? I thought that I’d do about 20 word/trope prompts and maybe in addition I post submitted prompts by you that are up „for adoption“.

I don’t have a clear idea yet about this, but as a general concept I thought it would be nice if anyone who wants to could –additionally to the word/trope prompts I provide– submit a longer prompt.

What do I mean by longer prompt?

I’ll give these kind of prompts: Sun, Moon, Stars, Marriage Law AU, etc.

An example for a longer prompt would be: Character A meets Character B at work and they get paired up for a project.

These longer prompts can be as detailed as the prompter wants it to be. The only thing that I would like to avoid in this case are submitted prompts that are also just a word or trope prompt.

Hey friends, I know a lot of you are very excited that this fest might run again. And I have good and bad news about it.

The good news is that I definitely want to run this fest again. I want there to be a fest for this wonderful pairing. I want you amazingly talented writers and artists to share your stories and art with us and I would absolutely love to use this fest to let everyone unwrap your presents to this fandom.

The bad news is that it will happen later than I wanted it to. That means that most likely we will start off at the end of this year and start posting in March/April 2025.

I know that I don’t really owe an explanation, but I want to give one anyway. Right now, my head and my schedule is full and I have absolutely no time or energy to organise this. There’s so much going on in my life in the next months that I can’t think about some time to breath until at least November. There’s work, there’s an upcoming move, there’s a new hobby I discovered for myself that took over a big part of my free time. In short, I have to wait for things to settle a little before I can even think about running this fest again.

Some of you have offered me help which I’m immensely grateful for and that I’ll definitely take you up on. I also want to emphasise that if someone might feel inspired to host another fest with the Harry/Ron pairing, please go ahead and do it. First of all, you don’t need my permission to do that of course. And also there can definitely be more than one fest/event for them.

Thank you all for your enthusiasm and support! I hope we can make this happen again as soon as I have a little bit more free time again.

And if you are interested, I want to know if you prefer open prompts again where everyone can create something for every single prompt or if you would prefer getting specific prompts that can be claimed and therefore, there will be only one artwork/story for each prompt? The second option is how most fests are doing it, meaning there’s a prompting phase where everyone can submit prompts and a claiming phase where creators try claim the prompt they want to write/draw for.

I’m happy with both options, so if you could take part in this little poll, you’d help me a lot.
