The Harlem Picasso Born in 1928 and earned his fame painting elaborate murals on storefront gates in Harlem, primarily on 125th St. Sweetest guy you could hope to meet and a great part of the Harlem NYC community. Funny story behind this photo. I was walking home with one sheet of film left when I met him. We had met before so we talked for a while. There was one guy who walked up and mocked our whole conversation the way a kid copies everything you say when they're trying to get under your skin.. There was also a fire truck in the street with it's sirens on and another younger guy who said he'd take my camera to 125th and sell it(we were already on 125th St!!??) Through it all Franco remained cool and calm and I hope we were able to make a pretty good portrait considering .
