Rubber matting installed under the large agave pots to raise them up off the ground and help with drainage and air circulation around the roots.Â
I’m taking the time to check over and tidy up (and in some cases propagate by removing offsets) each plant before moving it back into the greenhouse. Temperatures are high enough at the moment for them to enjoy a few days out in the rain during this process. All pots were wet over winter anyway due to being on the damp greenhouse floor, but they don’t seem to have suffered for it.
Last photo: 14 plants moved outside permanently - most are hardy varieties, but a few are those I have duplicates of and don’t mind risking. February 2021.Â
