But she wasnt herself. And when Q brought her back, she had all of these memories and had to reconcile them with who she was before. Shes only just now figuring it out in season 4. All of these characters are flawed. Alice is not more flawed than any one else. Julia trapped Q in his own mind in a terrible nightmare scenario and most people forgave her. I am all for Queliot, but not at the expense of respecting Alkce as a character.
I hear what youāre saying but also, I think she was also more herself than she ever was before? That was Alice as pure magic, unfiltered and free. It might have heightened the crueler side of her but it was still very her. Iām rewatching s2 and there are certain moments that itās absolutely the same Alice as before. To me, it seems like sheās just brave enough to say what she wants, as outrageously as she can when sheās a niffin.Ā I actually liked niffin Alice. She was interesting.Ā
Also, this isnāt about queliot. Not everything is about queliot. I just never liked Q and Alice together. I have a different reason for different phases but I just never liked them together. Itās such a bad relationship. Itās enabling at best and toxic at its worst. queliot is just the option we were given this season. Before that, I never really shipped them that much but I still disliked Q and Alice together.Ā
I also donāt like the argument ofĀ āPeople forgave Julia, why canāt they forgive Alice.ā To be honest with you, I always liked Julia. I just connected with her character immediately and even though there were times that I didnāt approve of her actions, I still really liked her the entire time. Iām not one of those who started the show with disliking Julia through season 1 and 2 and slowly warmed up to her around the end of season 2. Sheās my favorite character on the show. To me, her arc actually makes sense. Like I said, I might not approve but I understand her.
With Alice, I just never really understood her. I will admit that she is a character worth knowing and exploring and that she deserves better than what the show gives her but I just never connected with her, never really liked her. I canāt force myself to care for a character. No matter how I try, I donāt connect with her and I canāt seem to like her and maybe thatās why itās harder to forgive her. I donāt understand her at all so things that she does seem worse to me. Maybe itās because the show doesnāt let her character develop properly, maybe itās because they never really let her character flourish on her own. Maybe itās just that I donāt get her. Weāre on completely different wavelengths; Alice and I Whatever it may be, as it stands, I donāt get her motivations. I canāt connect with her so I canāt forgive her or even excuse her behavior.Ā
