Haaaaaaa it’s so frigging cold these days -- and it’s not inside our dojos that it gets any better! Temperatures inside my Tuesday dojo yesterday: 1°C at 4:30pm before the kids class began, and a meager 3°C at 8:30pm after the adult class ended (yeaaaah that’s what the combined sweat and body heat of 20 people can add to basically a wooden hut).
I’ll bring my thermometer tonight at my main dojo, just for fun... and I think I’ll put on some leggings under my dogi pants. Yeah, I know, it’s cheating, but...
9.- Zoltan Bathory
8.- Chris Kael
5.- M. Shadows.
Hermosa, talentosa, metalera, fitness, y… ¡¿Vegana?!
1.- Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein.
Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein is touring in support of the album Abominator. [email protected] Sun Nov 08 14:48:24 -0700 2015 1447019292 FILENAME: 202115.jpg
Terror, oscuridad, monstruos, y… Masa muscular?! Si!
.
It’s been a long and loneley time around the Be The Iron webpage.  emptiness has been huge, abscence has roamed for too long, but as you know, bodybuilding is just one aspect of our lives, is just one part of our lives, but is the only constant as well. I have been fighting against a lot of demons, but i have also learned and done lots of research, specially for new materials for the blog, and today’s post, is preciseley one of the new things i have learned.
Walking around the world, training and eating and youtubing, i have found out that there is a great mix, a secret formula if you want to, that makes every training better (At least for me, i know this is not a general rule), that is adding heavy metal to a heavy training. Many of you might know, that I listen to Heavy Metal (Really harcore and heavy metal, as well as hard rock), and along Bodybuilding, Heavy Metal Music is one of my biggest passions.
Once that’s been said, i started looking around and saw that lots of bodybuilders share this passion, and, here in Mexico there are tons of concerts coming, Children Of Bodom, Amorphis, Arch Enemy, Misfits, Guns n’ Roses, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, even the first edition of the Knotfest in mexican lands, inspired me in doing this post, the top ten fittest Metalheads.  This post wont only give us a look into some great physiques in metal, it will give us also a great training playlist for a really hardcore training.
10.- Corey Taylor.
One of the greatest voices in metal, Corey Taylor is our first Metalhead. The lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour is a great talent, and we can see his great performances live. Slipknot is a more Nu-metal sound, and Stone Sour is more NWAHM style, but it doesn’t matter which band you listen, or if you listen him solo, you will be astonished with his powefull voice.  Corey may not be massive or shredded, he is thin, he has a wide shoulder width, but he figures in this post, due to his neck thickness, and, although he may not hit the gym for hours, he at least takes enough care of himself, in order to be fit. We salute Corey,  and here we might listen “The Devil In I” performed by Slipknot and “Gone Sovereign” by Stone Sour.
9.- Zoltan Bathory.
Zoltan Bathory is a founding member and rythm guitar of the Nort American band Five Finger Death Punch and he figures in this top ten due to his state of mind, and worked physique.
Zoltan has a long musical career, but is in FFDP where he does his very best. His stage pressence filled with energy, his headbanging and wild dreads will work like a preworkout on you. But Zoltan is more than just a huge guitar master and a metalhead, he is a weaponsmaster, he is a great martial artist, he drives monster trucks, he is a huge package of chaos and mayhem. Zoltan, due to the sports that he practices has generated some huge forearms, a feature that is quite remarkable and noticeable.  Zoltan is a huge fan of the color red, but also has a deep love for ferrari, such love has ended up in an allegiance with Dean and Ferrari, ending up with one of the most beautiful guitars ever made and shredded. So, if you want bravery, wildness, mayhem, chaos, incredibly heavy and fast riffs, and really fast cars, Zoltan Bathory is your man. Zoltan is on the 9th place of this top ten, and allows us to headbang to this master piece caled “Under And Over it”.
8.- Chris Kael.
When one thinks of Heavy Metal, one thinks of huge guys, really tough looking and hardcore guys. Well, Chris Kael is exactly that. The bassist of FFDP (Yes, FFDP is my favorite band) is not only a great musician, he is also a good example of massive physiques and on stage monstruosity. Chris has evolved during his time in FFDP, only to become into a truly brutal figure. When Chris is onstage he looks huge and freaky, it almost looks like he is going to eat you as ine of his daily meals. Chris is number eight in this countdown, so we shall bang our heads in a sign of respect, while listening to “Jekyll And Hyde”.
7.- Peter Steele.
When we talk about huge bassplayers, we must talk about the one and only Peter Steele. Peter is in this top ten because… well… he is Peter Steele.  Few metalheads have done what he has, and i’m not only  talking about being the lead singer of one of the sexiest heavy metal bands ever (Type O Negative), but also the man made it to a covevr of the PlayGirl magazine, so, how freaking metal is that!?
Peter was the leader of Type O Negative, a band famous due to the strong sexual content of the songs, but it was also an incredibly fun band with incredibly good songs. peter now plays in Vallhalla, alongside a ton of metalheads that have died, but his legacy prevails with the songs he created. So now, we shall feast our minds with two incredibly good songs: “i don’t wanna be me” and “Love You to Death”.
6.- Zakk Wylde.
Enough has been said. The berserker is in the Top Ten and for quite obvious reasons. He is nicknamed the berserker for a reason, look at him! When one talks about Metal one must talk about the guitar god and legend Zakk Wylde. The legendary guitar of Ozzy Osbourne and the founder of Black Label Society is not only a guitar god, not only a great frontman, he is also a bodybuilding fan. Zakk is known for his guitar solos, his vested look, long hair and beard, his bullseye trademark guitars and his huge viking look onstage. Zakk has huge arms, and his entire look reminds us of times were Odin was worshipped. Zakk looks like a viking warrior, who Tyr has blessed, ready to strike in battle, but instead of wielding an axe, he wields and shreds a guitar.
Showing the world that you can be talented, massive, rough and tough, and yet, be incredibly funny, Zakk Wyldes takes over the sixth place in this top ten, and honours us with this song, called “Stillborn”.
5.- M. Shadows.
I have something to admit, i am not an Avenged Sevenfold fan (i know manny of the readers might be, please don’t hate me, i just dont like Avenged, i’m more a Lamb of god, Slipknot, Children of Bodom kind of guy, sorry). That being said, i do like a song or two, but, when not talking about music, I am a bodyubuilder, and i can recognize that M. Shadows, is a man with a great physique.
M. Shadows is a great frontman, and has the looks and physique to match it. His body is the result of effort and hard work, and it is noticeable, and i have to admit it, his voice is spectacular. That is why, Be The Iron salutes him, and is honoured to have him in this top ten, so, we shall listen to Avenged Sevefold, with “Shepherd of fire”.
4.- Greg Puciato
When i first saw Greg, the only thing i was able to think of was on the motherfreaking size of his goddamn biceps. Well, i think you all can see why i thought that. Greg has a shredded and yet massive physique, a physique that shows hard work and effort and that is the reason why we greet him in this top ten. The lead singer of The Dillinger Escape Plan is full of surprises, althoug i don’t like DEP (i know, please don’t judge me), i recognize the high musical level it has, but that’s not all about Greg, he also plays lead guitar and vocals in another band, a supergroup, called Killer Be Killed. This band features Max Cavalera and Troy Sanders, of Cavalera Conspiracy and Mastodon respectively.  Greg is a great frontman, seeing him onstage is something to remember no matter what, he fills you up in energy just like a preworkout. That is why, Greg is on the fourth place in this top ten. We listen to Dillinger Escape Plan with “Gold Teeth On A Bum” and Killer Be Killed with “Curb Crusher”.
3.- Alissa White-Gluz.
Beautiful, talented, fitness, metalhead, and… Vegan!? Well, nobody is perfect, but Alissa white-gluz is very close to it. As a metalhead, one of our biggest dreams is to find a Metalchick, and as Gymfreaks, pur dream is to find another gym addict to share our lives and trainings with her. Well, Alissa is, in this case, a true living dream. But Alissa is not only that, she is the new lead singer of one of thr best (if not the best) bands of Death Metal, Arch Enemy. Alissa has a great gutural voice range, an astounishing physique, an incredible stage pressence, and above all things, a huge mindset. She follows a very strict diet, trains hard, and that has taken her really far in life. We shall show our eternal love to the lead singer of Arch Enemy, and dedicate some reps to the song “Stolen Life”.
2.- Tim Lambesis.
When we were young, in our high school years we all knew this guy, who was extremely skinny, and because of that could’ve been bullied (we might remember this guy pretty well for we were this guy), or the guy that always wore black and listened to Heavy Metal all the time, and for that he was bullied (there is a chance that we were also this guy.) Well, Tim Lambesis was both of this guys, but time goes, time passes, and people evolve, and this is what happened to Tim. Tim became the lead singer of As I Lay Dying, success arrives, and Tim starts to escalate, starts to grow in the metal world, and when time comes, he founds his side project Austrian Death Machine, a band that tributes the great Austrian Oak. Maybe it was for the music, maybe it was for the movies, but Tim started getting interested in the gym life, and started growing, and know, he is not the skinny kid anymore, and became a truly massive guy, he has incredibly broad shoulders, and that was kind of obvious, specially when your training partners are Dana Linn Bailey and Rob Bailey.
Tim is one of those stories of success, that started down, and ended up on top. And even though he has had a very hard time and lots of problems (so many problems he has even lost his faith), he is still an inspiration, and that’s why we honour our second place on this top ten, and we will listen to As I Lay Dying with “A Greater Foundation”, Austrian Death Machine with “Crom”, and we’ll see an incredible delt training with DLB, Rob Bailey and Tim Lambesis.
1.- Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein.
Terror, punk, darkness, monsters… and muscle mass? Yes, indeed, we have reached to the first place in this top ten, and we are honoured in giving the first place to one of the biggest exponents in horror punk, to a huge icon in the metal world, guitar of the iconic metal band Misfits, and now, the guitar of a new project in the Heavy Metal world, Doyle, yes, we are talking about Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein. Doyle is a true mass monster, a huge fraky guitarrist, and the owner of his own brand of cofee, but that’s not all, he also has a relationship with Alissa White-Gluz (And to be daing the queen of death metal) you have to be quite metal. Doyle is famous for his guitar playing, his monster like look and his inredible deathlock, which end up as an epic battle hymn.
Ok, maybe you are not a punk fanatic, it doesn’t really matter, Misfits is quite metal, but even if you don’t like it, you can listenn to Doyle, which is a true metal band. But if that’s not enough, he also participates in the “Metal Allegiance” live concerts, which well.. is quite metal.
Doyle leads this countdown, due to his great physique, his massive arms, well sculpted body, and guitar shredding techniques. This way, we close this countdown, and do some reps, while listening to Misfits with “Dig Up Her Bones”, and Doyle with “I Hope That Hell Is Warm”.
