Lazy day
These kiddies are now three! What a blast these years have been with them. I canāt wait to see what the future awaits us.
Iāll always love ya.
I love Randy a lot because, he messes up, SO MUCH, he causes a lot of trouble that can cause danger to him, and the people around him. He really really shoobs up sometimes, a lot of the time. Both on accident/unknowingly, and because he purposely chooses to something he shouldnāt have. Both because he doesnāt understand things going around him, the Nomiconās lessons, and because sometimes he does know whatās going on, but still chooses to what he shouldnāt have. Both by otherās influence and by his own influence.
But then realizes what heās done, and puts full effort in figuring out how to fix it. And once he gets on that stage, thereās nothing making him back down from fixing what he did.
A lot of heroes are portrayed to be cleaning up other peopleās messes. The antagonist does something that the protagonist has to go stop, and maybe learns a lesson from it. Randy commonly has to clean up his own mess. This was a big theme in season 2 (we had it in season 1 too, but not as obvious). Where Randy [and Howard] causes a mess, and has to figure out how to pick it up. Randy does it willingly as well. Then learns his lesson during this fix-up. We get our [Nomicon] lessons at the beginning and middle of an episode, and the audience figures these lessons out with, and alongside Randy. Its not just us learning a lesson from what he did, we learn with him, as heās trying to figure out the relevant advice.
The fact that Randy is very willing to fix his mess-ups is another general great example weāre given. Randy messes up for very dumb reasons sometimes, but no matter what, he still goes to fix it. Showing, its totally okay to mess up, to maybe make the wrong choice, so long as you fix, and learn from it. Its a basic life lesson to ālearn from your mistakesā and with Randy we see that a ton, because the kid is always making irrational decisions, and doing silly things, that sometimes cause way more trouble. He not only learns from it, he admits to his mess up and goes to repair the damage.
I love his character so much for this, because heās not perfect, wonk-ups are always relatable, and his examples of cleaning up your own mess, or not giving up, is such a great combination to help us learn alongside the character.
