he 100000% is. i actually do not see a world where northstar!dex is NOT a virgin prior to meeting northstar!reader. let's be analytical, shall we?

dex has attachment issues, obviously. it's not that he doesn't attract people; he is good-looking, employed (with a very impressive job, might i add), intelligent, and can function fairly well in social situations he has a script to. but romantic relationships are ambiguous. no matter how many movies or tv shows he watches, dex would not be able to fully put a script together for how to navigate a romantic relationship because you can only learn through gradual experiences. crush, then dating, then break ups, etc. etc.

my man does NOT operate like that.

there is no "attachment" in him. there is only FIXATION.

also...dex does not handle being vulnerable very well. what is the most vulnerable position you can ever be in? sex. you are giving all of yourself to someone. bare, exposed, intimate and connected in a way that is both biological and metaphysical. combined with oxytocin and vasopressin release during orgasm, sex is inherently a bonding exercise of the highest form. you give a little bit of yourself to your partner, and they give a little back.

and why would dex give any part of himself to someone who was not his north star? that would be traitorous. blasphemous, even.
