Saying hi to some new followers! πππ Now may be a good time to share a little bit more about me besides my love of exercise, good food and short overseas escapes (I live for them!).
1. Iβm kind of a shopaholic π My main weaknesses are bodycon and bandage dresses and skirts, as well as anything fitted - shorts, skinny jeans, crop tops, etc - and statement jewellery.
2. I follow food blogs more for the purpose of getting pretty food-serving ideas than the recipes or the actual food π Then I run to Daiso at the earliest opportunity to search for cute tableware.
3. Daiso is a danger zone for the wallet. I take so long trying to decide what to get and which ones match better with what we already have back home as well as the food we eat.
4. The US has the best home shopping channels ever, period. During the time I stayed there, I literally wanted to order every single pair of earrings off QVC and HSN.
5. I miss spam and egg musubis in Hawaii and souvlaki in Melbourne, Australia. I miss thin crust pizzas with generous toppings because establishments are so stingy with them in Singapore. Most of all, I miss pizza by the slice. Hardly anywhere sells them here.
6. I suck at cooking local dishes. I never ever follow a recipe completely, so itβs a blessing that there havenβt been any disasters π
7. Scooping up bargains is addictive. So is retail therapy. In fact, theyβre better than chocolate on stressful days.
8. Durian smells and tastes like rotting carcass. Donβt let any Southeast Asian fool you into thinking itβs because you havenβt tried the good ones. I spent over 2 decades trying their so-called good ones and they all tasted like toxic waste. Papaya, banana, jackfruit and similar fruit taste almost as foul.
9. I fell asleep during the Titanic movie both times I watched it and only woke just in time to see Jack sink into the freezing sea. Hubs and I walked out of Noah because we were bored out of our brains.
10. I generally avoid bossy, persistent and domineering people because theyβre the least likely to respect anyoneβs boundaries. The same goes for loud and overly assertive folks. Refined company, on the other hand, is delightful.
Well guys, enough about me. Tell me about your idiosyncracies! π
