Ha well I went on to Skype today and noticed this on person whom I haven't talked to in months and decided to say "Sorry to inform you but you have this problem that when people see you they get really happy"
Than the person said "what??" And "you know its (persons name) right"
So I responded "oh sorry I was just trying to make you happy..."
And then the rest was really awkward until shortly after she sad "gtg" and that was it
Moral of the story today I tryed to make a person from my past happy and I ended up utterly embarrassing myself... Good way to fall asleep...
Happiness Trajectories: Modern Success, Future Failure
Failure has appeared to be the topic of discussion for some time now. We are redefining failure as a society, one country at a time. I'll give you a second to celebrate this. My concern is not so much our understanding of failure, but our definition of success, which links to our idea about happiness; where the latter, in turn, is interlinked with the foundation of the modern economy, innovation and the trajectory of the consumer market. Hence, our definition of success, plays a vital role in our long-term development as a society and the application of finite resources towards our goals, which are driven by this meaning.
The definition of success has always traveled alongside our understanding of failure, but now it seems that, even though, our understanding of failure is changing, our definition of success remains stationary in relation to this change. Popular culture has hijacked success and brands it through top ten lists, best places to be, best things to have, lists of people defined as successful and etc. Basically, it often strives to present an opinion as a fact with images that are distant and immediately unattainable to most (most who waste their time reading that junk that is), but who more or less allow the latter to become the beacon for their life's struggle, which later translates into a cure for cancer or, in most cases, into some statistics for the CPI figures.
I'm not saying we should forget Darwinism (it is here to stay, for better or worse) and that our current definition of success is something new, I'm saying why not make it something old and outdated, the same way we are retiring our understanding of failure, which, after all, is not engraved in stone.Β
I tried mixing cocoa powder with my vanilla ice cream to make it chocolatey =D... didn't make much of a difference tbh, but I thought it was a brilliant idea ^_^d
