for awhile you were one of the only authors writing multiple Hanza fic in English and certainly the only one who is a fan of the show and writes for that as well. I'm really glad we have you in the fandom

( I do have a question though, where does the phrase "mother naked" come from? is it a German thing? because iv never heard of it before seeing it in a few of your fics, here in America we would say "stark naked" or "buck naked")

The Hanza is just too good to not write about them, both in the books and in the show! Hopefully some more people will feel inspired to write Hanza fics when S5 drops.

No, mother-naked is not German, we say 'splitternackt' or, even stronger, 'splitterfasernackt', which would translate to 'splinter-naked' or 'splinter-fibre-naked', kind of naked like a piece of wood without its bark and not having a single fibre of fabric on you. The online dictionary that I use suggested the translation 'mother-naked'. Maybe it's more of a British English thing? I liked it better than the alternatives, but maybe I should change it if it's rather uncommon?

Angoulême uses the word for Nightingale's gang first and Cahir explains what it means. Not much later Geralt himself uses the term hanza twice in Tower of the Swallow chapter 5 to refer to their fellowship.

In the show they have only used the name 'hanza' in the frame story so far, which takes place about 100 years later, it's not used by any of the characters in Geralt's timeline, and in fan spaces the term has been used everywhere for their group for years.

When I mentioned that the hansa tag existed on Ao3 and tumblr long before S4, that's what he answered:

"Maybe it's just pandering to tumblr crowd, doesn't seem any better than Netflix trying to make their own thing."

Very true, it's ALWAYS Regis taking care of everybody else, like the mother hen that he is, but never the other way around. But a reason is not easy to come up with, he is pretty much immortal, does not need to eat or drink or sleep, is immune to fire, probably also to diseases, poisons. Hm, something to ponder. It would definitely be very nice for a change, and he'd deserve it!
