One of the things that is extremely hard for me to find time to do, is branch outside of knitting samples for shows and knit things that just simply bring me joy. A big goal I had for 2019 was to knit more with the plethora of hand spun yarn I have made over the years, that takes up about 1/4 of the space in my personal yarn stash. Since we have started our PA Project, I’ve really been making an effort to reconnect back to the roots of the fiber art world. It’s so amazing to have the luxury of purchasing bare yarn, that can be ready to knit with in a matter of days, but sometimes the real work behind the end product becomes lost by the easily accessible initial goods. It felt extremely good to cast on something just for me, using my very first hand spun yarn, from wool I picked up at the very first NY Sheep and Wool Festival I attended. This is #soldotnacrop by @boylandknitworks. This project is just for me, and it’s out of yarn I made just for myself. #guiltypleasure . . . #boylandknitworks #caitlinhunter #myboylandknit #strandedknitting #strandedcolorwork #colorwork #iloveknitting #handspun #handspunknitting https://www.instagram.com/p/BxJMIRpB18j/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=h65qzp4omfu0
