It's back! After years of waiting, Dussa's finally has #Harzerkäs (or #Handkäs) in the cheese counter! Harzerkäs is a German sourmilk curd cheese whose sink preceeds is presence. Known for its distinctive smell and potent flavour, harzer cheese is not for the faint of heart. Although, it is also very high in protein and extremely low in fat (less than 1%!), making it a popular cheese with the brave dieter. Harzerkäs mit musik (harzer cheese with music) is the traditional way of eating harzer cheese - Add oil, vinegar, raw onion, and a sprinkle of caraway seeds to the cheese and leave it to sit to room temperature (or longer if you can stand the smell).
