#HamzabinLaden , the son and potential successor of #alQaeda leader #OsamabinLaden , has died, according to U.S. officials. It is not known how Hamza was #killed or if the U.S. was responsible for his death following the State Department saying they would pay as much as $1 million for information on his whereabouts. President Trump responded to the news on Wednesday (July 31), telling reporters, "I don't want to comment on that." Hamza, who is believed to have been born in 1989, appeared in propaganda videos of his father declaring war against the United States. #NavySeals killed Osama in 2011 during a raid on his Abbottabad, Pakistan, compound. Hamza was not present at the time of the raid. Counterterror expert and former FBI agent Ali Soufan commented on speculation of Hamza's expected role as al Qaeda's leader, stating in a 2017 article, "Hamza is being prepared for a leadership role in the organization his father founded." Soufan added that Hamza is "likely to be perceived favorably by the jihadi rank-and-file.
