“SLAVE NEVER DREAMS TO BE FREE. SLAVE ONLY DREAMS TO BE KING.” How is it to find that the effort of many others is necessary to realise the machinations of an other? How much do you think you’d sell for as a slave? What would you be fit to be used for? Have you thought out ideas you’d need others’ help to accomplish but it’d be not possible to convince them to buy into the scheme, and have them be free to opt out any time at will or on a whim? Certainly, there must have been blind poets that have spoken of light. Whatever matter it takes for mind to be? Who are the non-free thinkers? Today, everybody gets paid, it’s the way we have organised it, the corrupt parts of it must be hard to unravel. Which work is worth more than the other? Every contract implies threats of dispossesion and ultimately, the loss of almost all freedoms to use tools or act among other people. I wonder which insects freely crisscross prison walls ... By voluntary choice, work is liberating! By conscription, if it is fun, that’s luck! How does a 19th century Sub-Saharan African king go about creating an artificial lake? “A picture of the dispossessed at work”.
