Hammerman
Produced by DIC Animation City for ABC, Hammerman is a Saturday morning cartoon series staring musician M.C. Hammer. The tale centers on a social worker named Stanley Burrell who owns a pair of magical dancing shoes (which are alive and can speak). Putting on these magical shoes transforms Burell into the super heroic Hammerman. In his pursuit of protecting his community and fighting for justice, Burrell frequently gets advice from his ‘Gramps’ who was the former owner of the magical shoes and used to operate as the superhero known as Soulman.
The show was hosted by the real MC Hammer, who also sang the show's theme song, which details the origins of Hammerman. Hammer additionally provided the voice for Stanley Burrell. Other cast members include Neil Crone, Clark Johnson, Susan Roman and Miguel Lee. Harmmerman premiered in September of 1991 and ran for a single season.
