I just made this antenna switch so that I can switch my antenna on the front of my house between up to 4 receivers. all the internal wiring is done using rg59U shielded cable from the dual layer 5 position dual pole rotary switch to the 4 sockets. As shown, one position is "NO CONTACT" and disconnects the antenna from any receiver.

New electrolytic can installed, monitor switch labelled, working on the bench. The 4 section electrolytic can from Hayseed Hamfest dropped right in. The terminal layout was exactly the same as the original, and the 4 sections were slightly greater capacitance and higher voltage rating than original, both good things to have.

I removed the clock, for which I have no use, and in its place have added a monitor speaker which can be switched on and off. I know it looks horrible right now, and Hammarlund purists must be cringing, but it will look much better once I attach the custom grill cloth. That will cover a multitude of evils.

Did a little more on the HQ-180. I carefully documented all the wires and parts going to each section of C82, the multi section electrolytic filter condenser, and finished removing it. The job actually went smoother than I expected. Now I have to wait until my parts come in, and I can replace it.
