! Awesome fanart, but can’t find the artist... Does anyone know? Message me if you know, please, so I can properly attribute them! :) ((I get a really Asian vibe from this one, for some reason. Maybe its the very anime-ish rendering?? The mecha-like robots in the back?)) UPDATE 18/9/2015: The artist is the wonderful redhlz! Go follow her for more lovely art: redlhz.tumblr.com.
Our Hamadorks as Hamagoths, because I love these cinnamon rolls & I love Goth, so why not? (Plus I don't see enough Goth boys around--and I do mean Goth, not emo, no punk....yes, there's, technically, a difference)
Hamagoth Headcanon time!! (Hiro is primarily interested in punk-goth, while Tadashi is more of a casual-Romanti-goth, but both boys interchange between and like/dislike certain styles and aspects of almost all goth subcultures, some more than others).
Hiro:
still discovering his style; moved passed the basic "mall goth" stage, where he used to just buy regular black clothes or pre-ripped shirts or just buy stuff because it looks "edgy" even if he didn't really like it; hates being called a "babybat," whether as an insult or a term of endearment
casual Goth; usually just wears typical shorts and hoodies/t-shirts with some accessories thrown in; some punk and emo accessories (not a huge fan of Victorian or Romanti; appreciates and likes some aspects of cybergoth and deathrock, but overall doesn't wear a lot of the more decorated stuff like large platforms or button-up shirts)
not into top hats, circular glasses, puffy sleeves, pocket watches, cloaks, or anything "old-timey"
tried to go with a mohawk once, but it didn't work out at all
dyes streaks of his hair too much and leaves the color in too long, which Tadashi is always getting on him about; usually dyes it one color at a time, but will sometimes do two colors at once; has yet to dye his entire hair (yet), but Cass and Tadashi won't let him, because they're afraid he'll break off all of his hair
currently has no tattoos, but is saving up for a lot of big ones (wants a lot of big "cool-looking" tattoos on his back, arms, legs, chest and neck); he will get some of these large tattoos when he turns 16 and he will immediately regret getting them a few months later (but that won't stop him from continuously getting tattoos, because the next one will always be "The one that won't suck."); secretly loves every "bad" tattoo he gets, because they make for interesting stories
currently has a lip ring (that contributes to his tooth gap); a nose ring (interchangeable between a ring and a stud); an eyebrow ring (this one was done himself rather than by a shop); soon to get at least 3-5 piercings on one ear; is likely to get a few more piercings in the near future
will wear simple chokers/collars (usually stuff with one line of studs or spikes, not 2+); not much of necklace or wristband person
will probably be the one to experiment with make-up in private and at first completely deny it, but eventually realize the "guy-liner" look isn't for him anyway and just not wear make-up at all
Tadashi:
will do great in the corporate goth world
very modest goth; usually doesn't wear anything with rips or tears in it (he'll wear fishnet shirts, but they'll always be under or over something else)
likes casual Victorian tops (stuff with three-quarter sleeves and lace-up cuffs or collars; not a fan of overly-frilly shirts, but will wear lace and velvet if he likes the style of the shirt)
not a huge fan of vests
usually prefers black or colored Converses or any dark/neutral-colored boots; if he wears boots, they're usually Doc Martens or Timberlands, but he will occasionally rock the 1"-2" ankle-high platforms on the weekends; he owns a pair of platform boots that go up to his knees, but he rarely, if ever, wears them
understands that Goth isn't about "all black all the time" and will often incorporate color into his wardrobe
secretly wants one or two piercings (mostly small things, like ear studs and maybe a nose piercing), but he wants to work in the medical industry, so he's probably not going to get any of them anytime soon
has a few small tattoos that are easy to cover up (mostly on him arm); slowly creating a sleeve, but he doesn't want it to go beyond his elbow; takes him awhile to think of and decide on a tattoo and all of them are significant and/or thought-out
likes wearing leather jackets, but doesn't feel like they "fit" him, so he never wears them in public, unless he sneaks one into the dressing room at the mall
will wear longer necklaces/chains around his neck and some wristbands; wore chokers once or twice when he was about 14/15 and didn't like the way they looked
doesn't usually wear chains on his pants/jeans, because he's gotten them snagged on items in his lab before
unless you paid attention to his outfits everyday, you'd probably never guess he was Goth
will probably wear eye-shadow every once in awhile, but doesn't make a habit of it
I liked these sketches until I walked away from them and came back, and then I immediately hated them...Okay, maybe "hated" isn't the right word, but the Hamagoyles are still harder to draw than I realized (probably doesn't help that I'm still learning to draw Hiro and Tadashi right as regular humans).
