Lately I’ve been obsessing about dormers. Originating from the Middle French dormeor meaning “sleeping room”. Dormer windows were extensively used by French architect François Mansart, in the mansard roofs he designed for 17th-century Paris. Fireplace #beforeandafter improving the flow and light of this home was on the top of my priority list. By redirecting the staircase I was able to increase the size of the dining room by 4’ and open it to the living room on both sides of the new double sided fireplace with custom made marble face. Taking you back 13 years ago with this total gut and renovation. Picture quality isn’t great but the work is some of my favourite to this date. My inspiration for this two story ocean side condo was luxury yachts and creating that feeling on land in what was a faux colonial interior.
