Greenough Harbour Custom Home Begins | Site Clearing & First Steps to Build

Today’s one of those days that makes a project feel real.

After months of planning, walking the property, designing around the landscape, and working through the vision with the homeowners, the machines are finally on site at our Greenough Harbour project. 🚧🌲

Cory Rydall and his crew are getting started on clearing the building envelope, marking the very first physical step toward bringing this custom home to life.

There’s something exciting about watching untouched ground slowly transform into the foundation of someone’s future home. Every custom build starts somewhere, and big progress begins with that first push of dirt. 👊🏡

Step inside the Camden I, a custom modern farmhouse in Americana Estates of Bolingbrook, IL, where honest materials and a thoughtfully zoned floor plan come together in a home built for both elevated entertaining and comfortable everyday living.

From the street, James Hardie Cedarmill siding in Cobblestone pairs board-and-batten gables with lap siding, grounded by Eden Mountain Crest stone accents. Bronze CHI carriage doors anchor the three-car garage, and Pella windows frame a Fiber-Classic oak entry with double sidelites. Inside, the entry opens two stories tall, with luxury vinyl plank running the length of the main floor. A powder room with an Antique Slate maple vanity and Calacatta Laza quartz sits just off the foyer, and full-lite French doors open into a study lit by a six-light chandelier in textured bronze and brushed brass.

The great room is the heart of the plan. A window wall climbs to the second floor, sunlight moves across the floor all afternoon, and a Heat & Glo fireplace sits floor-level in a clean drywall surround. The red oak staircase with black square balusters rises to the catwalk above. An arched opening leads to the mudroom, where a bench with cubbies and beadboard paneling sits over Moroccan hexagon tile, with the laundry room right there—maple cabinetry, quartz counter, utility sink, and matte black LG washer and dryer.

The first-floor primary suite sits under a vaulted ceiling with its own French doors to the pool. The bath pairs a double vanity in Weather-finish maple with dual linen towers, toe-kick lighting, and a freestanding soaking tub under a picture window. The shower is curbless zero-entry, tiled floor to ceiling in Vitality White porcelain, and the floors are heated. A private water closet and a walk-in closet with full built-in shelving and an LG Styler complete the wing.

Upstairs, a loft under a sloped ceiling gives the secondary bedrooms their own gathering space, and the hall bath includes a Weathered maple vanity, an alcove tub tiled in Dynamic Beige porcelain, and a pocket door to the Jack and Jill water closet.

Out back, an 8'x8' slider opens to a stamped Tuscany Stone deck surrounding a saltwater fiberglass pool with an automatic cover and LED lighting, finished with matte black wall lanterns, new landscaping, and a deep lot.
