Gene and Alex are the ones who first get together, but they realize very quickly that something is missing. They need their girl, nothing feels right without her.

Courtney dates around for a little bit after Gene and Alex get together because she feels lonely and left out, but nothing ever feels right to her. She needs her boys.

When they all get together, no one is surprised. They all balance each other out in the best of ways.

Bob kind of doesn't know how to react to the news at first. He of course loves his son and fully supports his queer and unique ways, but polyamory isn't something he considered until his son came home declaring that he loves his boyfriend and his girlfriend. Thankfully Bob likes them both and gets used to it pretty quickly.

Linda LOVES Courtney, they get along so so well. They're always breaking into song and dance numbers around each other. Bob pretends to be exasperated and Gene and Alex cheer for them on sidelines or, more often than not, join in.

Alex's mom is hesitant about the throuple at first, but Linda talks to her and soon Mrs. Papasian is Team GAC pack.

Courtney's dad, however, REFUSES to accept it. This was not the life he envisioned for his little girl, and he tries to keep her away from the boys. It doesn't work though, and the Belcher and Papasian families fight him about it until he finally backs down. He never stops being salty, though. Get rekt, Doug lmao.

After they graduate high school, they all move in together. Gene is getting his bachelor's in theater, Alex goes for computer science, and Courtney decides to be a kindergarten teacher.

Courtney and Alex become pregnant with their son Casey when they're 20. They're all excited but also scared. The boys are so good to and for pregnant Courtney and absolutely dote on their son.

Alex and Courtney decide to get married when they're 22. Gene is the one who marries them, and after he declares them husband and wife he says "Now you may kiss, but kiss me after because my boyfriend and girlfriend just got married!!!"

Gene is not jealous at all of them getting married because he never had any interest in getting legally married. They do hold a little ceremony for all three of them a few years later for personal reasons.

When Casey is 6, Courtney becomes pregnant with her and Gene's daughter Jean. Yes, Gene picked out the name lol. She's a sweet little girl and everyone adores her, especially Casey.

Gene is poly outside of Alex and Courtney and they respect that, though they have no interest in anyone outside of their throuple. Gene's other relationships are pretty much strictly sexual, though, because he loves his husband and wife.

Alex and Courtney get jobs in their respective fields, and Gene becomes a comedian/musician (think Bo Burnam-esque style).
