So from the first photo you may or may not notice I've switched my hair parting. This is so I can pin it back easier on the left, so it doesn't mess with the microphone on tHE CROSS-AID I GOT TODAY WHOOPWHOOOP!! There is no reason you should know what a cross-aid is. But basically it's a form of hearing aid that transmits sound from my left ear to my right ear, and then my brain figures out what direction it's coming from I guess? I still don't really know, but it's to help me hear because I've been completely deaf in my left ear since I was 6. I did try a cross aid back then, but they were much chunkier and heavier and were connected by a wire behind my neck so I generally hated it. There's been a lot of advancements since, and now it's tiny and wireless, and it makes cute little boop-dee-doop noises only I can hear which seriously makes me feel like cyborg. I still wasn't a fan of it when I first put it on, but I think because I've been so used to how I normally hear it freaked me out at first. But I'm slowly encouraging myself to love it. Also, you seriously cannot see it when my hair's down. So basically that's what's new. I am still going to make you sit on the left of me because it still feels weird as fuck, and I haven't determined if I'm going to wear it all the time for just when I most need to, so wait and see. But just so everyone knows: I'm disabled, I have a gadgety thing that helps me hear, and there's nothing gross or weird or shameful or wrong or embarrassing about it. I'm practically a cyborg AND when there's annoying noisey people around me I can just switch it off, so you're all going to be Van Gough-ing yourselves with jealousy by the end of the week. Okay so I’m only a couple of weeks from getting my hearing aids... I’m starting to get a little nervous because this will open up so much in the world that I’ve never noticed of heard before. Can’t wait to listen to a marching band when I get them.
